Noodle Station Restaurant

Went to Giant hypermarket at the Pusat Bandar Kota Damansara cos i wanted to buy some J.Co donuts after office. Had dinner at Noodle Station, its our first time......and our last!!

They have plenty cooking style on their 'noodles' menu plus they have western dishes. Looks promising but wait till you taste em.

I had Chicken Chop with black pepper sauce (RM10.90)

Bee had Springy Noodles with Bar'b'q chicken (RM6.00)

I guess this will be the first and last we come to this place for makan. The food is horrible. My coleslaw was like eating 'hampas'. The black-pepper gravy was just so horrible and the chicken batter was bad. The noodles was just so-so.
This is what happens when Malaysians wanna open an eatery place but the person who cooks the food are foreigners and even the waiter/waitresses are foreigners....they don't even understand when we asked them to explain certain things about the menu....sigh....what a bummer!!

Food Garden

Have you been to the Food Garden @ The Gardens, Mid Valley.

We went there twice. But last sunday we got the chance to sample some dishes.

I had Pan Mee (RM 6.50)

Bee had Curry Laksa (RM 6.50)

The place is quite cozy for a 'food-court' concept and clean, the price quite on the high side but its not crowded compared to other food-court in Mid Valley.

Pondok

Pondok is a small quaint restaurant. Its located at PJS, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara.

Last saturday we made our way there. Bee read about the review in KLUE mag and thot we'd tryout.

Its lunch time and we ordered simple ala-carte dish each.

I had mee kari (RM6.80). Its quite tasty and not too oily.

Bee had nasi lemak (Rm5.80). Its quite ok but i guess the sambal need a bit of 'kick'.

The food is okey lah. Its still new and its operated by a penchant couple. I hope they'll do well but there are plenty of eatery places nearby its location.

Tappers Cafe on the Block

Bee read in some mag that there's a new cafe in town. He misses western food cooked in a hainanese style. Whenever he finds out that there's a new halal place with good food (as per the mag's review), he said must go and try. So that's what we did. After office yesterday evening, we went on a venture and look for this place.

Its located at the Palm One. And i can tell you there's so many eateries around this place. Tappers has nice ambiance, i especially liked the cozy white interior.

I ordered Fish & Chips. And it is indeed 'DELICIOUS'. The batter is crunchy and the fish is so succelent!! Its a simple presentation but its really really SEDAP! Its only RM8.00

Bee ordered Chicken Chop Hainanese Style. The gravy is a tad too sweet but the taste is still there. The chicken is tender and its served with grilled potatoes. Its RM9.50

Hot plain water is only RM0.40cents each.

The food is reasonably price plus its NO GOVT TAX and NO SERVICE CHARGE.

I guess this place is quite happening amongst the youngster especially during the nite cos there are aplenty of places to eat here.

Go check it out!!

Bedtime Stories

Again, not a fan of Adam Sandler but since the review were promising, both bee and me decided to go and watch. On saturday went to One Utama before the traffic starts crawling and saw the morning show.

Genre : Action/Comedy

Plot : Hotel handyman Skeeter Bronson's life is changed forever when the bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to mysteriously come true. He attempts to take advantage of the phenomenon, incorporating his own aspirations into one outlandish tale after another, but it's the kids' unexpected contributions that turn Skeeter's life upside down. (source : Yahoo)

Our verdict : hey, not bad at all. Much better then Four Christmases and so much funnier. I think kids would loved this movie. If you have time to take your kids for movies, this is definately a must see.

Four Christmases

Paid so expensive to watch this movie. Usually we'll go watch movie on Wednesday or the morning show to get the early bird price. But since on the 2nd of Jan 2009, both of us didn't have anyting to do, we decided to go and watch the movie.

I donno why i thot this movie is gonna be nice especially when i don't even like Reese Witherspoon or Vince Vaughn.... I guess i thot its gonna be a funny movie...boy, was i wrong.

The plot :- (source from Yahoo)
When upscale, happily unmarried San Francisco couple Kate and Brad find themselves socked in by fog on Christmas morning, their exotic vacation plans morph into the family-centric holiday they had, until now, gleefully avoided. Out of obligation--and unable to escape--they trudge to not one, not two, but four relative-choked festivities, increasingly mortified to find childhood fears raised, adolescent wounds reopened... and their very future together uncertain. As Brad counts the hours to when he can get away from their parents, step-parents, siblings and an assortment of nieces and nephews, Kate is starting to hear the ticking of a different kind of clock. And by the end of the day, she is beginning to wonder if their crazy families' choices are not so crazy after all.

Our verdict : B O R I N G! ! ! Bee said on the scale of 10, he gives a 3...hehehe...i agreed!

2009 Countdown at Cherating

Bee asked me 2-3days before the end of December 2008. He asked, where do we wanna celebrate the countdown, just the two of us. Hmm... I suggested the beach and he's ok jer. But at the same time i do not wanna go to crowded places or destination that requires long driving.

We thot of Cameron Highlands (no, its raining season, i'm scared of landslide). Thot of Genting (no way, too many people). Not Penang cos we just came back from there. Malacca is not a good idea too cos that place is always packed with people. I thot of Cherating beach....straight away bee said make a booking!! Yeah rite, with school holidays and all.

Nevertheless, i attempted and made a few calls to some hotels in Cherating, so far 4 hotels were full. Alas, Holiday Villa was available tho the rate wasn't cheap. Quickly made reservation, one nite only cos I'm working on Friday. Since new year's eve is a half-day working day at my place, i only need to apply half day leave.

We left Shah Alam at around 9am. Bee said no need to rush cos we wanna take a leisure drive. But with the traffic and all, we got out of Gombak toll around 10am. Used the new Pantai Timur highway which cuts at least 2 hours driving if u use the old trunk road. Sceneries along the way were nice and greens and not many cars. The weather was nice, with blue skies and white clouds.

I made breakfast cos we don't like making stops when we travel together. I made sardine-in olive-oil sandwiches, fried some chicken tempura nuggets and chicken hotdog. Made hot black-coffee and packed some tid-bits.

Pity bee cos on that day itself, he suddenly got flu. Since our flu medicine is out, we decided to stop by Kuantan town and find a pharmacist. After having a simple lunch at a mamak restaurant, we reached Cherating safely. I just loved the beach. Its been a long time since i last visited the beaches. I guess around 15 years ago....that's a long time.

Alhamdulilah, the weather was good and we were able to have our beach-walk in the evening and breathe its non-polluted air, enjoying with the sound of the waves and took pics.

Countdown were at the beach and the hotel has kindly provided some small fire-works.

Breakfast was held at a coffee-house by the beach. Then later bee and i drove to check out other hotels nearby. Just in case we wanna go again to Cherating. The hotel we stayed were okey-lar but it needed some refurbishing cos weather and time has taken a toll on some of its structures.

Before leaving for KL, bee said we must check-out Kuantan latest mall. After checking out at 12:30 noon, we made a quick stop for some Keropok Lekor...memang sedap makan panas-panas. Kuantan's latest mall was said to be the biggest in Pantai Timur, East Coast Mall.

Found the place, it is quite big. They have 2 anchor tenant, Parkson and Carrefour. When i was studying there, there were only Teruntum. Now there're a lot of changes, few malls were open and a lot of new township opening. After jalan-jalan, we had our lunch at Pizza Hut.

Left Kuantan town around 3:45pm. Alhamdulilah, reached KL safely 3 hours later. It was a short drive and i thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the beach. Thank you bee for making it memorable.

Maal Hijrah 1430

We have now crossed the new Hijrah year of 1430, Bee and i are wishing muslims all over the world Happy Maal Hijrah. May all Muslims all over the world be blessed with good health, wealth, happiness and PEACE.

Altho i'm deeply sadden by the recent war between Palestine & Israel, while other big countries just sit down and do nothing, i prayed that someone or something put a stop to this conflict. Condemn the Israelis for declaring war.

Bee had Chicken & Mushroom Baked Speghetti (RM10.80)

I had Ice-blended Choco Brownies Mallows (RM8.80) and Bee had Sprite (RM2.90).

We're definately coming again to this place. Must try their pizza and western range.
