Supper at my Mom's

Last nite, Aunty M invited huby n me to have dinner at PJ Hilton. She's also inviting Aunty L and family for the dinner.

We reached Paya Serai coffee-house at 8:00pm and had a very full dinner. Coincidently the theme for the dinner during tis whole 3 weeks is 'Middle East', so most of the dishes served at very arabic, as in spicy, tomatoish kinda food. The food is tasty tho'.

After dinner, adjourned to my parents house. My mom has specially prepared Aunty L's favourite supper.....DURIANS!! Plus some kuih-muih. We all ended up chatting till 12:30am...just past midnite.

Tiraimisu Cake from Suchan

Yesterday, i ordered a cake from Suchan Deli. Since they're famous for their Tiraimisu, i ordered just that for 2 of our colleague's coming birthday.

The cake was delicious. At 2.5kg, its really is generous with its nutty covered cake. Cost RM88 plus RM30 for delivery to Shah Alam area.

Sunday Outing

My aunty frm Kuching came down with her family for the school holidays. It is very rare to see her husband come down and actually wanna have holidays spent with the wife's family. But alhamdulilah, everything turn out well. Her itineraries were packed with outings with her other siblings too (altho some of the nieces/nephews could not make it).
Her saturdays have been booked by Uncle N. They went to see the KLCC twin-tower bridge and Petrosains. Initially those were our plans cos earlier that week, my family n i have brainstormed about the outings we gonna have on sunday. But since it has been taken, we quickly had a quick decision on other spots which Aunty L has not been to.

So on sunday, we fetched them at exactly 9:30am (everybody was punctual) and went straight to KL Tower. The crowd has not set in yet, so there is no queing up for tickets. We were at the observation tower for about half an hour. Of course you get to see the whole of Kuala Lumpur and the weather was good and the sky was clear, you get to see clearer view.

Outside KL Tower
Later, we went to Eye of Malaysia at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. Fortunately the place is still open. They've extended the ride till end Oct 2008. Its fortunate again cos the queue was fast and short. Its my first time too and quite an experience lah.

Everyone after the ride
Its nearly 1:00pm and its just nice for lunch time. Took a drove to Corus Hotel and had lunch at Dondang Sayang for their lunch buffet. Papa's treat. The food is tasty and we all enjoyed the food. Sat there for about 2 hours plus.

Dondang Sayang Coffee House
Later we adjourned to Islamic Art Museum. It was bee's idea since we know Aunty L's husband is into art and islamic ideas for his furniture business. The entrance fee is RM12 for adult and RM8.00 for child and 'warga-emas'. We spent at least 1 hour plus as the place is interesting with islamic artifact from overseas. After taking picture and all, we sent them back to their hotel.

We picked them up later at 8pm to have dinner at Johnny's Steamboat Restaurant at One Utama. Since in the afternoon we all had heavy lunches, we thot having steamboat is a nice balance for the nite time. Furthermore, Aunty L's husband likes soupy-soupy dishes (as a host kenalah peka dengan guest's taste kan). They enjoyed the food nevertheless.

We sent them back to their hotel at 10:30am. After sending them back, we all head back to my parent's house for our post-mortem about the day's event. We're all very satisfied becos everybody enjoyed themselves. Mama suggested that she wants to call them to the house for supper on Tuesday. Hope it goes as planned.

Saturday nite gathering

It has been a long long long time since we last had 'saturday nite gathering' at my late grandma's house in Kelanajaya. During our teens, we used to frequent the place to gather with all the aunties, uncles and cousins!! There'll be a big feast (everybody will pot-luck) and black 'kampung' coffee will be served!! There'll be lots of noice cos lots to catch up with each other. Everybody will come and sit everywhere in the house from the floors to every available chairs. From the main hall to the dining hall, there'll be people. Many topics will be covered from family, politics, work-place, cooking, latest gossips, etc...etc. And most of all its also a time to bond. Everybody goes home after midnite, usually in the wee morning.
Boy!! I missed those days, and surprisingly so does huby. He did had the chance to be in the crowd during those days. Now my grandma and an elder auntie has passed-away, the house no longer has that much 'life' to it. We still make your trip there once in awhile when we have time to visit another auntie who is stayin there.

Last saturday, i got the chance to meet my other cousins which we only meet nowadays during hari raya. Altho the atmosphere is not the same but the havoc is still there. I can tell you, the neighbours might be cursin' at us. We're so loud with our laughters and conversation cos when my bro n wife came, he said our voices can be heard miles away, hehe. Even when its time to go back, we're sort of dragging our feet cos it was so much fun!!

The food. Ada macam-macam malam tu.

The cousins!!!!

Last but not least , the merapu pose...hehe.

Beijing Highlights...at least to me

Did u guys watched the 100m event last saturday?? Awesome isn't it!! We did get the chance to catch a glimpse of Usain Bolt from Jamaica making his victory run and winning the golden boot!! Kesian tau but he deserved it!! Not only he broke the world record but he also broke the Olympics record, yeah baby!! Look at the way he ran, true they say, its like 'lightning'!!

And as a Malaysian, i am also proud of our Lee Chong Wei who made it thru the finals. Altho he got a Silver and thats just mattered cos he made it thru the finals!! Of course playing with the world no.1 badminton player Lin Dan is just tough but at least it put Malaysia on the map of Olympics again.

Breakfast at Ikea

Ikea restaurant in Ikea have morning breakfast promotion at very cheap price. For RM0.99, you'll get a plate of mihun goreng with sambal plus a mug of 'free-refills' of tea/coffee. Where can u get man?!!

Last year also they have a promotion for breakfast too. But its different, I think it for RM5, you get a plate of nasi lemak, mug of tea/coffee and 2 boiled eggs.

Last saturday, bee n me made a trip to Ikea restauarnt for the breakfast promotion. With our mihun goreng each, we also ordered 5 pcs of chicken wings for only RM9.00. And it is sedap!! It was definately a worth feast.
Try the chick-wing, the marinate is tasty and its tender too. Memang berbaloi!!

Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

We're tryin to make Wed our movie day. One of d reason is becos every Wed, TGV sells movie tickets less then the usual price.

Actually hubby memang relunctant to see this movie but i managed to persuade him...hehehe. The show starts at 6:00pm so its just the rite timing for us.

Movie Plot : (Cut n paste from yahoo) After a devastating break-up with his girlfriend, TV sitcom star Sarah Marshall, a heartbroken and depressed Peter heads to Hawaii for a little vacation to try his best to forget every detail of his relationship. But love laughs at Peter, because Sarah is vacationing in the same exclusive resort as Peter, along with her new boyfriend.

Know wat hubby said just after the movied ended? He said "wat the f*&%@ was that all about???" He hated the movie and i don't blame him. It just sucks big time!! There were some funny moments lah but there wasn't any 'umpphh'. There were too draggy and i just can't understand why i wanna see it so much...damn, that was a wrong decision. Should have just watched Dave!! Sorry bee for making you watch it! hehehe..

I decided to watch it cos i the movie producer is from the maker of '40 year old virgin' and 'knock-out' which is quite a nice movie. But i guess wrong.

Chocs from Langkawi

Ahboss went to Langkawi for meeting last week. He brought back Belgian chocs. Two boxes pulak tu...bestnyer.
The best thing about Langkawi is, its a 'duty-free' island. So the choc for a box is only RM15.00 but when i surveyed at Carrefour its RM28 per box...wah...so expensif.

Tapi sedap lar, itu yang penting...hehe

Dim Sum Sunday

Fetched Aunty M and cuzin F for dim sum. Left for KL at 10:00am. Reached Quality Hotel approximately 15-20 minutes later as the roads were free. Went to Level 1, Maizen Chinese Restaurant. They served every sunday dimsum from 9:30am to 2:00pm. Buffeet at RM26++.

Its been a long time since we all last went out for our dimsum. What a nice timing as its just before the fasting month. We're suppose to go out with another couple but last i guess we've gotta postpone our meet.

The restaurant has been newly refurbished and it has nice decor. We made our way to the buffeet counter and picked-up our favourite dims sum (steam or fried). Its been a long time since we last went to this place. Not bad the food. We liked it lar.

After dimsum, we all made our way to Mid Valley. Had to go rounds to find parking. Just jalan-jalan but i can tell you that i felt like there were millons of people there, sampai sesak!! By 4pm we're outta the place.

Went to Fariz Maju restaurant for some teh-tarik before we all went back home. Get some rest as tomoro's a working day.

Dinner with my parents

Here we go again. My parents anniversary being celebrated at the restaurant of papa's choice, wherelse, Johnny's steamboat restaurant. Went to One Utama after the maghrib prayers. And opps....i was so hungry until i forgot to take pictures. Tapi its d same ole thing mah.

Then as usual, went to A&W to have desserts. But this time no waffles. 1 couple had super-duper sundae and another 2 couples had Mr. Harmony which is actually a banana-split.

It was a warm nite and 1 tall-glass of root-beer is just not enough...
Reached my parents house nearly midnite. Its also the time we discussed about our outing next week with mu aunty from Kuching who is coming down to KL with her whole family.
