Berbuka at Sheraton Subang

Today we (my colleagues & me) were treated for buka puasa at Sheraton Subang. Food is good & plenty. They had it at their ballroom and there were so many people. They even had a small stage for some ghazal music being played by a 5 piece group.

If the price is less then RM100, i think i only ate less then RM50. They had small stalls in the ballroom and i tell you, i didn't go to all the stalls...how much can you eat lar. Here are some piccas.

So far, i've been to hotels that served many types of hot drinks (eg. hot milo, nescafe & teh tarik). Their cold drinks were also aplenty. They have orange, grapes, bandung, air-mata-kucing, sugar cane & soya bean. So many type of liquid desserts, from pengat pisang, tau-fu-fah, bubur cha-cha, bubur pulut hitam, bubur sago, bubur kacang hijau, etc. Fruits were yellow n red watermelon, papaya, pineapple and dragon fruits. Of course there were many types of local kuih-muih and their speciality desserts like breadpudding, cheese cakes, jelly, etc.

Soups, they have at least 3 types of soup that goes with aplenty of bread-roll.

Small stalls were Popiah, Nasi Ayam, Pasta, Noodles, Roasted Lamb, desserts, etc. I didn't take much pics cos my batery went off.
But i hope there's no food wastege and i do enjoyed their delicious food.

I wanna learn to play drum

I'm suppose to post tis last July. My sister-inlaw bought a set of drum for her sons (lucky kids!!). So i tryout and kinda love it! I used to play drum when i was a cadet in the brass-band (Kesatria) during college years. In fact i wish i can play the piano or guitar. Can release tension, i tell u.

When i was in my teens, my mom used to send me for Organ classes.. But i didn't have the interest then, wuz too busy dating..hahaha... I learnt till grade3, i think. When i think about it now, i regretlar....sigh.

My nephew didn't have to go for classes and already he's mastering the art of drumming away. He said the only way, is to just beat it and get the hang of it. Of course if you wanna be a professional, you'll have to take classes lar.

I always 'berangan-angan' being in an orchestra, playing violin...i wonder why cos i have no interest in playing the violin. One day must go jamming with frens and release work tension!!

Pick n Brew, Glenmarie

Didn't know 'Pick n Brew' has another branch in Glenmarie if not for its banner. I've been to the One Utama branch for breakfast quite some time ago (didn't post it in my blog cos i didn't bring my camera at tat time). Their bfast memang best!!

Ahboss wanna treat us for buka-puasa. Coincidently they're looking for a place to eat which is near the office area and not too expensif this time. So Pick n Brew came at the rite timing.

We left office at 6:50pm and just in time for buka puasa. Got the VIP room. Ambiance, nice and cozy. Food, tasty. But i wish they have more variety...i know what can u expect for RM30 rite, hehe. Those who tasted the bbq lamb said it was excellent (some went for seconds). Other dishes were good too. I especially liked its nasi kerabu and ayam masak merah....sedap!

Later we ordered their coffee n chocolate drinks which is not included in the buffet. Inclusive of buffet were air bandung and sirap lychee and teh tarik. They're famous for its coffeee, so my bosses enjoys them. (Its nice of Jackson to open-up their coffee bar which were closed due to puasa month....thanks Jackson!!).

Met Jackson Kah who owned the place. He's an avid blogger as well. Young, friendly and polite chap. He said the place was open since Nov 2007. He asked us about our opinion on the food or any comments. We told him to put as much banner cos not many people know his place. We left the place around 9pm.
I'm definately gonna introduce this place to my other colleagues. Surely they'll loved this place. I heard plans oredi that they wanna tryout Pick n Brew's lunch tomoro...good!! Its location is near our office which is convenient, the ambiance is great and the food is good!! Oya, they oso served breakfast.....I must go and eat after Ramadhan month.

Buffet is RM30 net per person.

Baked Macaroni

Last few weekend, i made baked macaroni. Its easy. But i do not follow its recipe as per in the book. Its up to u how much/how many you wanna use its ingredient.

Ingredients & method.

Boil macaroni (up to u) with some oil n salt and strain.

Mozarella Cheese (get the grated ones, its easier)

Sautee chicken (bite pieces) and sliced button mushroom with some oil and garlic.

I add 1 can of chicken & mushroom soup. (Its not in the recipe but i add it to add some moist n taste to my macaroni). Put in salt and pepper to taste n continue to stir till half-cooked.

Later put in green peas (i put green peas for some colour, its up to u). Continue to stir. Optional : add-in maggie chicken granules (for taste).
Once done, arrange the sauteed ingredient at the base of our pyrex/casserole dish (greese it first). Sprinkle (generously) with grated mozarella cheese. top with the remainder of the dish, and sprinkle the sparing grated mozarella cheese.

I've actually boiled some quail eggs (not in the recipe), this is just to add extra ingredient to make it tastier. U can arrange the eggs in between ur macaroni.

Mix 4 whisked eggs with some milk.

Pour into egg mixture over the macaroni. Bake in pre-heated oven till egg mixture is set.
I forgot to take the pics of the baked macaroni. But happy baking!

McShaker from McD

Have u tried this? Bee n i went to McDonalds 3 nites ago. Actually i was craving for choc sundae (nope, i'm not pregnant yet!) and huby wanted to drink something cold. Off we went to McD.

Saw this new entry from McD and ordered . Okeylah boleh tahan. If i'm not mistaken few years back, McD used to bring this product here but now they're bringing it back due to popular demands, i think.

They will put ur fries in this paper bag.

Tear this packet and put into the paper-bag and 'shake-shake' to ensure all the fries get 'marinated'.

And eat! It has salty n spicy taste.

Okeylah, but i guess youngsters will love it and i think it has too much msg.

Pelita SS2

Yesterday, bee n i invited cousin F for buka puasa. I think this is the first time we had a real buka puasa with her. She's a simple person (likes teh tarik n mamak's food) so we brot her to Pelita restoran in SS2. Yesterday was a cooling day, it rained in the evening.

Cousin F had nasi goreng ayam. (RM5.50)

I had nasi kandar with squid curry, fried chicken and ladies finger (RM9.40)

Bee had nasi briyani with squid curry, chicken kurma and acar timun. (RM11.90)

The restaurant gave each tables some complimentary buah kurma, banana, jelly and watermelon.

The food is good but bee and I agreed that Penang still has the most authentic nasi kandar.

The Amazing Race Asia Season 3

Yezzz.....TARA is here..... Did u all watched it last nite? Bee n i surely didn't miss it!! Both of us are fans of The Amazing Race (be it USA or Asia). We try not to miss watching it.

So far i think the contestants were alrite but its too soon to tell cos we just saw the first episode. But they were rite about being the toughest race. Already seing the contestant trying to clean a bus!! Man, tats not easy.

I think, the host, Allan Wu have improved a lot in sense of hosting. And i can't wait to see them travelling to places or ceruk-ceruk yang kita tak kan pergi sendiri.

I'm glad our two malaysian team made it to top10 last nite. I donno what tough assignments they have to go thru next, i just somehow wished the prize money could be more. It feels so unfair cos for the US franchise, winners get to win USD1million but for Asia, its merely USD100 only, sigh.

So many celebrities this time around. Of course the pretty Thailand girls and 1 model-guy participant from the Philippines. Altho i noticed there weren't any participants from Indonesia and Japan. There's are two team from India and first time participant in TARA is from Korea.

I can't wait to see till it ends and see who wins. I'm definately supporting the Malaysian team.

Go Ida/Tania!!! (I think they don't take it seriosly but i guess they just wanna have fun)

Go Bernie/Henry!!! (I'm sure they're both strong team, very focus and hope they made it)

Long John Silver's (LJS)

I think i've written about this fast-food joint. I was first introduced to tis place by huby who ate its famous fish n chips in Singapore. We're so happy when they finally brought the franchise in M'sia.

I'm writing again becos, i wonder what happened to its franchise? There used to be an outlet in Plaza Masalam, Sunway Pyramid and One Utama but all of it had closed down. Now there is left with only 1 outlet which is in Mid Valley.

Yesterday, we had our buka-puasa there cos its not easy for huby n me to go to midvalley. We decided to have our meals in LJS as we donno how long it will around.

Oredi we think that the services has deteriorated. Yesterday we saw a customer 'tapau' some food and huby noticed that they no longer use a plastic bag which used to have 'LJS' logo, instead they uses the normal yellow color plastic bag.

I ordered hot tea.....and after putting in sugar n powdered milk, i was wondering why my tea taste horrible, afterall they use Lipton tea. Check-check, the 'not-nice' taste came from its creamer....LJS uses creamer from the hypermarket 'Cxxxxfour'...gosh!! What happened??

They used to have their own brand chilli sauce. But now they use Kxxball brand chilli sauce. And the best part is, its expired!! We make a complaint thru the waitress and she told her boss. We didn't wanna make a big fuss about it, after all its ramadhan. But i can tell u, their supervisor is damn rude!! Didn't even apologise and then he said its packet of chilli sauce is not expired. He said that is the manufacturing date. U tell me!! We ain't fool but like i said earlier, malas nak make it a big deal. But huby did make it a point to tell-off to one of its staff since the supervisor didn't wanna come out to see us. Even tho if they said the packet comes from the supplier, its their job to check and inspect the expire date-kan...!!!

Check it out.

I've no complain wth their food. Its fish n chips are still fresh, cruncy n tasty and up to its standard.

Its coleslaw also still good.

Their mushroom soup is okey.

For Long John Silver's people, we hope u would at least retain at least 1 outlet in Klang Valley. And please please improve in your services, attitude and quality control. If you wanna retain your customers, do something about it!!!

Kek Lapis Sarawak

I guess not many people will appreciate kek lapis sarawak. However, i enjoyed eating them. My favourite is the chocolate-cheese lapis. The other day, my auntie from Kuching kirim the cake to my uncle who made a transit to KL before he goes back to his hometown in KB.

Kek Lapis Sisek Ikan
(Ada ke rupa sisek ikan??)
My anty gave me this one. Its taste quite alrite.

Kek Lapis Cadbury.
Can u see the cadbury chocolates in between??
This one is for my Anty M, but i persuaded her to let me try some.

After cutting it to bite-pieces, this is how it looked.

Michaelangelo's Italian Kitchen

Yahuu.. alas dapat jugak i makan kat sini.

On monday, huby said i 'no need' to cook....horrrayyy!!! So he let me choose the restaurant that i wanna go for buka-puasa. I donno why during this ramadhan, tekak ni rasa macam nak makan western or fast-food ajer. Dat day pulak rasa macam nak makan pasta pulak. Told him to fetch me and we go straight to Sunway Pyramid. Jalan-jalan and bought some stuff at Watson. Decided to tryout tis promising Italian restaurant.

Before 7pm we went into this new restaurant. Its our first time there. We discovered that Michaelangelo's also have a two other branches in Pavillion and Mid Valley.
Ambiance is nice.

Roasted whole chicken leg, topped with tomato base vegetable sauce, baked with cheese and served with speghetti. I lurve this dish that hubby ordered. The amount of spiceness is so rite and the taste is simply wonderful!!
