Mama's birthday & Papa's day

We celebrated my mom's belated birthday dinner & Father's day at Tramcar. Its my parent's and my bro & wife first time there. We juz ordered a mix of local and western dishes. After dinner, we adjouned to my parents house.

I brought chicken meatloaf for supper. Cousin gave a marble cake which she bought from a bakery in KJ. Since the cake is plain lookin, i made chocolate topping and asked a bakery store to put some wordings on top of it, hehehe and it taste good too.

At home we prepared supper and wished our parents. Then presented to them a gift which they have to share. Thanks to my sis-inlaw who helped get the hotel voucher at a steal and i helped wrapped it in a nice gift box...with a butterfly on it...hehehe..

We gave them a 3D/2N stay at Deluxe, Garden View at Swiss Garden Golf Resort & Spa, Lumut, Perak. Its a good thing, my parents have never been to the hotel before.

We're sooo glad that my parents loved their gifts. This year, all of us were numbfounded....donno what else to give our parents but this one turned out good, alhandulilah.

I told them to use the voucher before the fasting month. Mama said she's been wanting to go somewhere juz to relax and this is a timely gift. She's happy she get to stay there 2 nites cos she said they'll have one day to take a boat to go to Pangkor Island.

May they both be blessed with good health, long life and lotsa happiness.

Happy Birthday Pa

Today is my Papa's birthday and he is 65 years old. I always prayed that he'll be blessed with great health and have good energy to travel every year like he's been enjoying it with my mama. I'm happy when they get to travel together to places they've never been before. They've so far covered half of the countries all over the world....little bit here and there.

Since today falls on a working day, I've planned that we make a simple supper for him tonite. My mom agreed to fry some karipaf. I'm bringing chicken satay, my sis-inlaw is bringing d cake and Aunty M has kindly voluntereed to bring fried mihun.

It was a nice n simple celebration. I'm papa is happy with the small gesture :)

My Hari Raya celebration

There is no celebration, if there are no food, relatives and visiting. Plenty of food is the number one 'must-haves' especially if you're hosting.

First day raya were at my parents place. Its always happening cos i don't get to be in the kitchen all day. I juz need to help out my mom for a bit and prepare the necessary for lunch. The rest were mostly entertaining guests which were my aunties, uncles and cousins. Of course meeting them once every 2 years is so precious. We get to be crazy, gossip and laugh aloud....one of the best times with cuzzies.



After entertaining, we'll rest for awhile to prepare ourselves for dinner. Usually diner will be held at one of my auntie's house. Its a norm, i will usually go for her 'sup makaroni'....i missed my late grandma's ones. Then it will be second round of gossips, laugh and plenty of eating. At this auntie's house, we'll have a session of karaoke cos my uncles loves to show off their 'so-called' talent of singing.




Too bad i only get to see them once every 2 years....so i'm the only couzin tat will usually missed out a lot!!

On the 3rd and 4th raya were spent at my inlaws. Usually we'll received guest coming to the house (not much of visiting tho), that's their way of raya. Most of the time, from breakfast time to lunch, i'll be "slaving" (figure of speech) myself in the kitchen to help out on preparing dishes (usually many types of main course). Of course there'll be many people in the kitchen plus the maid to help outlar. Later it will be entertaining guest and preparing the tables for 'makan'. Most of the time, it a tiring occasion but pays off when we mingle with relatives.


The fun time came when we visited 2 houses. That's when all the laughter and eating came...no housework, hehe...

But i guess raya is like that (plus its only once a year and tiring makes it worth it??!)! U tell me, hehe!! I enjoyed it this time around and met a lot of people that i only meet once a year.
