Ate free at TGIF at The Curve

We went to Ikea to scout and buy a chest-drawer. Bee still have his RM200 Ikea voucher and we have to use it before it expires. Later, we jalan-jalan the Curve's flea market. I bought a croc 'look-alike' shoe for only RM15 and it was so comfy. But of course i donno how long it will last lah....haha.

Then both of us wanted to eat western....no...its not gona be Bubba Gump. We went and surveyed Tony Romas, Manhattan Fish shop, Marche, Dome, the Apartment, you name it, alas we end up in TGIF. Only becos they've got a new menu plus this is the first time we are eating at TGIF at the Curve.

Bee is especially happy becos their new menu has a 'halal' logo plus the new menus have many interesting new dishes but unfortunately bee's fave the 'seafood platter' has been omitted.

We're so eager to try their new Mac & Cheese. And since both of us didn't feel like having heavy meals, we ordered some simple food.

Our Mac & Cheese is good especially their salsa sauce that goes with it. But you know what happened? Huby took the first bite and took out something plasticky and sharp (regretted didn't take a pic of it). He showed it to me and after inspecting it, i think its like you cut out a plastic container and a piece of plastic went inside it. I called the waitress and told her that it is so dangerous if we were to swallow it, no kidding!! She came back with their GM, Nicol Roach Reddy. He said this is the first time and he apologize about it. The chef admitted and apologises that its their fault and told us that he will do a new and fresh ones.

Later our shrimp & chips came. We both just loved its batter plus the dozen of shrimps were simply fresh!! Then our new Mac & Cheese came. This time i asked the GM whether he's gona give a discount for our meals....and he said, our meals are on the house!! Wah!! Rezeki jangan ditolak!! Furthermore we always eat at TGI, so we're just so happy. Altho we also thank the Almighty for not swallowing the plastic.

Went to Cupcake Chic and bought 2 pieces of Cupcake for my parents's anniversary. Don't feel like buying a cake cos its gonna be only family small celebration.

Beijing Olympics 08-08-08

Did u guys watched the live-telecast of the Beijing Olympics? Spectacular isn't it? Bee and i always looked forward to the opening ceremony of big events like this. The last time we did was sit on the couch and wait for the Australia Olympics(2000) and Athens Olympics (2004).

The hype of Beijing's preparation (months back) and finally on the successful opening. We think China put up a stunning pageant. I learnt that its directed by an acclaimed movie director Zhang Yimou. The performance were just superb. I especially liked the glowing globe which dancers/acrobats were attached to the cable and walked around the globe were simple amazing! Don't you think the umbrella which opens up to children's picture were impressive?!! Its colourful and culturally rich!!

To me, the National Stadium, known as the bird's nest is just extra-oridinary and i also liked their aqua stadium which looked like an ice-cube at nite.....simply spectacular aint it? Of course the fire-works were just great! Their fire-works were not only toward the end but most of the time. I am so proud that we, Asian's proved that we can do better then the Westerners. Go China!!

We also watched our Malaysian team with their 'malaysian' attire. Both of us always looked forward for the American team also cos usually they have the largest team but not this time, cos China has the biggest team. But for the Olympics this year, its ackward to see Korean not coming as 1 team, instead they come in two different team. And its also 'kesian' to see some poor countries coming to participate but their spirit of sports is amazing. There were more then 200 countries that participated and some of the countries, you didn't even know that they existed.

The show closes after midnite but its worth the wait, hehe. Bee and i looked forward on the athlethics events, especially the 100metres event. And no, we're not supporting Tyson Gay but the Jamaicain (Assofa Powell and Usin Bold) guys....we hoped they beat Tyson....hehe..

The external speaker is Ms. Faridah Hamid. She has been doing women's talk for the international and local people. We had fun listening to what she has to share. Its about empowering ourselves by learning to ask the right questions rather then whine and complaint about petty things.

After the talk, we all adjourned to another session, 'make-over'. At the same time Estee Lauder is having discounted for their product range. Most of us made our purchased lar....cannot tahan mah!!

Happy Anniversary Pa/Ma

Today is a sacred day for my parents. Its their 37th anniversary. We will take them for dinner. What else to do lar? Beside taking them for makan-makan, celebrate their long-live marriage.

All of us prayed and hoped that Papa & Mama will be blessed with abundance of good health & wealth, a lot of happiness, a lot of energy for future trips and years ahead. We all loved you guys and we thank you for bringing us up and taking care of us.

Bowling & Makan

Last two fridays ago, the SOD team went for Bowling at Pyramid Mega Lane. We left the office after 4pm. Played 3 games. Objective of this gathering is 'bonding'.

Its been a long-long time since i last bowled, so u can imagine that many a time, my bowling ball went into the drain....hehehe... The rest also got the same thing (bola masuk longkang, hehe). Imagine there were 6 girls with 1 male (our ahboss).






After bowling, adjourned to Manhattan Fish shop for dinner. We ordered (to be shared) 2 sets of Fisherman's platter for 2. Mussles with creamy cheese and fried mushroom. Yummy.

The Dark Knight

The movie that we both have been waiting for. We've read the reviews from the newspapers and it has been promising. Of course this movie is all about the late Heath Ledger. Even frens said this movie is good. We took the 5.50pm show at TGV Sunway Pyramid. Its a 2hour show.

Genre :- Action & Fiction.

The plot :- Batman and James Gordon join forces with Gotham's new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take on a psychotic bank robber known as The Joker, whilst other forces plot against them, and Joker's crimes grow more and more deadly.

Our verdict :- well bee enjoyed the movie......hmmm...unlike me. Of course credit goes to the Joker cos he's (the late Heath Ledger) is damn good. But i'm quite confused on the storyline (batman fans will hate me for this). I just don't understand. I do like its action and stunts but i'm just blur when i come out from the theatre. Well....at least i watched it oredi!!hehehe...

The Mummy, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Bee and me went to Pavillion yesterday. 1st of all is to last minutely check The Tangs last day sale. And also to check out Club 21 sale. Didn't get anything, didn't like any that interest me...donno why this time around the mood to shop just not there...haiyo...

Since we watched all The Mummy franchise, we thot we'd drop by GSC and took the 5:00pm show at RM12.00. So expensivelah the ticket price in Pavillion. The parking itself is RM9.00!! Tapi dono why i soka pegi jalan-jalan sana.

Genre :- Action & Adventure

The plot :- Explorer Rick O'Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex, wife Evelyn and her brother, Jonathan. And this time, the O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

Our verdict :- ermm...okilah...out of 10, we'll give a 5 lar. Boleh tahan lah. Altho some of the scenes reminds me of 'Lord of the rings'...tapi their special effects, so-so lar. But i enjoyed the fighting scene between our Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh and Jet Li.

X Files, I Want To Believe

After dinner at Bumbu Bali, we all adjourned to Sunway Pyramid to watch X Files movie. There were a long queue but unfortunately the tickets were sold-out. What did we do next? We adjourned to One Utama cos the chances to get tickets there are more as they have 2 cinema theatre. We settled at GSC. So lucky to get 6 tickets at 11:40pm show.

First of all, bee and i am not a big fan of X-files but since its 4 against 2, we settled for X-files. We didn't mind cos we're both movie buffs mah.

Genre :- science fiction

The plot :- Scully has returned to her medical practice, working in a religious hospital for sick children under the watchful eye of catholic clergy, while Mulder has holed himself up in a cabin clipping stories from newspapers, far away from the FBI, until a bizarre case breaks involving a physic and the call goes out to the pair to help the FBI with their investigation.

Verdict:- we both thinks that the show was only so-so. Even for those devout fan of X-files might be disappointed with this movie becos they don't show much about paranormal or supernatural thingy. Its like a normal crime-investigation show with very minimal suspense. Quite slow in the early scenes and to us its like an average TV series.

Bumbu Bali

We had an outing with some frens last saturday nite. They're Marcia and her bf Victor, her cousin Marina and her bf Adi. We met at Bumbu Bali. According to bee, its the same franchise as Ole-Ole Bali.

The food is of courselah sedap and so is the company. Its our first time meeting M's bf and also her cousin & bf. They were funny bunch of people and we enjoyed their company. The place were practically full-house. We had our meals on their second floor and by dinner time it was totally full. The ground floor is even full when we came in.

Overall this place is happening-lah becos the food is good and tasty and the place is cozy. If you wanna go for some fusion Bali food, come to Bumbu Bali. Bee was so in his good & generous mood and so he treated us all. Thanks bee!

Pak Tam Kopitiam

I'm sure people in Seremban will agree with me. There isn't much eatery places in Seremban. Donno why. Its quite difficult to find places to eat in Seremban. Especially during mother's day ke or any other occassion, you don't have much choice but to go either Allson Klana or Royal Adelphi Hotel. Boring betul. Yes, the new Jusco Seremban have diners like Secret Recipe, Delifrance, etc but its not much choice.

But there is one place called Pak Tam Kopitiam in Oakland. This place is cool man!! I said cool cos kat in Seremban memang cool. Go there for breakfast memang best. They have everything and you just name it!! Nak lontong, mee rebus, mee bandung, mee soto, western range, apa-apa sajalah, mesti ada. The best is yet to come....their karipaf, cukeria, ubi-kayu are all yummy. Their roti bakar is very authentic cos they 'bakar' it using kayu-api. Of course the kaya to go with the roti bakar is superb. Pendek kata segala-galanyalah sedap kat tempat nih.

Last week went there for breakfast. Its a must to have their kuih-muih before we start off our main meals. Tapi i was so hungry i forgot to take pics of the kuih except the main-meals.

Marco's Pizza

Last saturday, made a trip to Bangsar Village II. Its been a long time since i last went there. One of the reason wanting to go there is becos i got a call from Liz Clairborne boutique, they said their sale is expiring soon and i thot why not just drop by and see what latest items they had. The place was quiet tho.

It was almost lunch time and we walked over to Bangsar Village I. Since the eatery places don't have much choice, we opt for pizza. Actually its so difficult for me to coax bee to eat at Marco's cos he insisted that they don't have a 'halal' sign. I made initiatives asking those malay waitress and waitresses and ensured that its really halal.

He ordered Penne Alla Royale (a chicken base pasta) and i ordered their regular pizza pepperoni. The portion is quite big and even we couldn't finish our meals eventho we shared. However, the pepperoni is very salty and bee don't like it. I do however liked their pizza becos they are generous on their mozarella cheese...unlike other fast-food pizza....
