Happy New Yeah 2010

Huby insists that we celebrate new year this year by the beach...n i have no qualms about it as i lurve beaches, hehehe.

We planned ahead & decided that its gonna be a leasure drive. We started off not too early. Made a stop at Kuala Kangsar (my first ever trip there) to tryout the famous Laksa melayu. I got a map from a fren but conviniently left it at home. But huby said he wanna try find it ourselves.


Before eating, we made a stop at one of the oldest rubber tree in Malaysia. The tree is more the 100years old. Took sum pictures for rememberance and head-off to the laksa place.

Yes, we made it. Its a small eatary food court near the handcrafted area & its also near the river bank . We ordered a plate of laksa, a plate of pasembor and a bowl of cendol to be shared...(cos we need to save some space in our stomach for the nasi kandar, hehehe).

Yes!! The Laksa is truly out of the odinary. There're different from the ones you had in Klang Valley. Its 'sedap'. And so is the pasembor & also the cendol. It is also cheap. After food, we head straight to Penang.

Upon reaching Penang, we'd thot we'd tryout Nasi Kandar Line Clear......but it was sooo hot that day and the queue is long we decided to eat at NK Yasmin.

Stayed at the newly renovated & refurbished Flamingo Hotel. Spend some few minutes at Hard Rock Hotel but didn't get to buy anything at their merchandise store...sigh....nothing interest me.

We celebrated New Yeah at the hotel lounge . Guests were given party-pack & the hotel had firecracker during the countdown & they put on 80's music which we enjoyed till after midnite.

We were supposed to stay in Penang for three nites but we cut short it to two nites only cos Bee wasn't feeling too well. Nevertheless, i enjoyed the outing very very much & am thankful 2 Bee cos at the same time i get to de-stressed myself by lepaqing by d beach & eating nasi kandar, hehehe...

Malacca Excursion

My trip to Malacca was so-so...mediocre. Nothing great! Probably cos i wasn't that keen. We left KL on the 1st day of CNY around 10am and reached Malacca town around noon. There was quite a jam before Nilai and Seremban highway. As expected, Malacca is full of tourist mostly Singaporeans and locals. Had lunch at Restoran Asam Pedas. Papa said we were lucky that day cos we managed to get a table for 6 and the place is packed with people. Papa said this place is famous for its asam pedas. For me, 'biasa jer'. Later checked in at Mahkota hotel n apartment.

Nite time, went to Umbai for dinner. Boy! Its not worth eating there. Its our second time there, the first time was not good and the second too. The food sucks, its expenstive (cos its festive holiday) and the service sucked too. After diner, we all went to town to see the ferris wheel. Didn't get the chance to go cos there were a long queue.

1st day, after breakfast, we all decided to tryout the hotel's recreational activities. Bro and SIL played pingpong while my parents and us played a game of carrom....and we let our parents win, hehe. Later papa played pingpong with huby, bro and SIL while mama n me played congkak. After the guys sweat out we went up to the room, take a breather n refreshens.

Later the guys went for Friday prayers and went to lunch to the same place we had yesterday. Then went to Malacca parade and Dataran Pahlawan. Late evening we all went for the 'Malacca River Cruise'. I think it the highlight of this trip. Altho we had to queue for nearly 45 minutes, the cruise journey was wonderful. We should be proud of the history in Malacca. If you have the chance, do take the 45minutes cruise.

For diner we're suppose to go to this place which papa said the 'asam pedas is power' but unfortunately they're closed. We end up having dinner at a food-court just next to Malacca parade before we settled back to our apartment.

2nd day, after breakfast at the hotel, all of us went back to the apartment, packed and checked out at around noon. This time huby, bro, SIL and me could not take any more of asam pedas and so we persuaded our parents if we can have 'Burger King' for lunch instead and they agreed reluctantly, hehe. After that we jalan-jalan and left Malacca at precisely 5pm. Reached Kelana Jaya around 7pm, went diner at Nasi Lemak Cikgu before settling back to home-sweet-home.

Next year's resolution during Chinese New Year, probably stay around KL???

Penang...here we go again!

PEARL OF THE ORIENT. Yezzz, dats rite! Bee n me went to Penang again last saturday. This time "JUST D 2 OF US". We made prior booking only on 2nd week of December. Actually its either staying 2 nites in Penang town or 2 nites Penang beach hotel. So both of us compromised, we booked 1 nite stay in town and 1 nite stay near the beach. We're used to hotel-hopping, at least we got the best of both world, hehehe.






Making bookings, i can tell u, never-ever make bookings during school holiday especially to Penang can be a hassle!! Yeah...yeah i know...i never learn. We're just trying our luck too. And lady-luck was on our side. We managed to get a nite stay at Dorsett hotel (used to be Sheraton Penang) and the 2nd nite at Hyrdo Majestic Batu Feringhi (used to be Feringhi Beach Resort). We're satisfied with both chosen hotel.







Penang was packed with people as expected. Town was jam but tolerable lah. Thank god, the weather was good, hot n sunny!!




Food, yes, the mission to visit Penang again was cos of the food. Just couldn't get enough of it : nasi kandar, cendol, asam laksa penang, takua rendang, popia, murtabak, sup Hameed, mee goreng Sultan. Memang Penang is heaven for FOOD, not only its cheap, its also tasty. Alas, i dapat pegi jugak pasar malam Batu Feringhi. Seronok lar cos lama sangat tak pi pasar malam tu, macam-macam ada!!



In a way, its an anniversary gift from bee to me lar....so i habis hati lar menghabiskan masa yang berkualiti di Penang dgn makan-makan dan jalan-jalan. Terima kasih bee!! You made my holiday!
