I missed Bubba & a visit to Otak2 Place

Its been a long time since we last went to bubba. Since i've not been to the SPyrmd branch, bee & i decided to tryout some of their dishes that we've not tryout....??

We shared a starter.....its fresh prawns with their delicious garlic bread....which is very yummy.

And a main dish....can't remember d name...but it has a shrimp & crabmeat filling....and i lurved it!!

Otak-Otak Place

We made a trip to this new place at the new wing in OU. Its our first time there. The menu looks like during our primary school writing book. Its quite unique in a way. It has a nice ambiance, very simple & kopitiam-like.

We juz felt like ordering the local dishes. We had 'nyonya otak-otak' for appetiser. Bee ordered curry mee and i had the asam laksa. Overall, the place was sorait lah.

Upuma

What is Upuma? It is one of many types of Indian dishes. A colleague introduced me to this dish around the 90's....and i quickly loved it. Have you tried?

This dish is made of sugee flour. Its fried with curry leaves & spices. You can eat it with curry, dhal, sambal or even with sugar.

Its been awhile since i last had it cos there isn't any Indian shop around my office area. Last week, a colleague bought one for me for breakfast and it made my day, i'm happy that i juz had 2 blog about it, hehehe.....

Last week's makan with my colleagues

A day before fasting, a colleage ME brought us (three of us) to Puchong area for lunch. She brought us to "Bibikwok", a Nyonya and Thai cuisine restaurant.
The ambiance is very nice but the location is quite far for me to bring bee. Generous food portion and price range from RM8.00 to RM15.00 per ala-carte dish.
The food were good. I had meehoon siam. The rest had nasi goreng and pineapple rice.

New foodie

I bought something new last week. An office colleagues bought this packet and asked her whether she brought it overseas but in actual fact, its sold in hypermarket, G. Apalagi, tanpa membuang masa...

I quickly bought it becos i want it to be a food that bee and i can munch while we're watching tv, etc (when we have early dinner). It can also be eaten with milk but eating it on its own is also nice, plus healthy, hehehe. No more munching on 'muruku' or crispy potatoes or other junk food....hehehe.

This week my sis-inlaw who juz came back from the States gave us this. Its huby's fave but since he's trying to control his food, he decided that i brought it to office and share it with frens.

And last but not least. I got the chance to buy Gardenia's latest product, the butterscotch! Yes, memang sedap di makan begitu sahaja. I lurved it!! I bought it and introduce it and share it with some of my ofis colleagues and they agreed, SEDAP!! Its soft, its sweet and its butterscotch!!

Macaroni & Cheese

Bee n me are sucker for macaroni & cheese. Sometimes Cold Stor*ge will bring in imported product which you can do it at home....instant one lah.

We used to buy a 'Kra&t' brand where you have to mix the cheese powder with milk and mixed it together with the macaroni. Tis particular brand that comes with a blue n yellow box is not so nice Recently we found out a new brand, same brand but different type.

Its shell pasta and creamy cheese is just so easy to do. A ll u need to do is, boild the shell pasta till the desired tenderness, drain and return to pan. Cut off the cheese sauce pouch and squeeze the cheese sauce over the hot pasta....and its ready to eat....and it YUMYLICIOUS. U can also improvise by adding some ground beef/chicken or green peas for added taste....but we liked it plain.

Another imported brand that i bought recently is also the easiest....straight from can. I haven't got the chance to try it yet....i'm sure its nice.

Both product can be purchased from any Cold Stor*ge.

Restoran Sri Nirwana

Last saturday a couple fren wanted to go for Indian banana-leaf rice. Of course we're delighted to join them. We met them at Bangsar and proceed to the restaurant. Its called Restoran Sri Nirwana, opposite Bangsar Village II and beside the Ambank. The restaurant is jam packed with people man!! And some have to wait for their tables.

Our yummy banana-leaves rice with condiments and curry....lots of curries.

Fried Squid and Fish Cutlet
We all agreed the food is good considering we hardly had banana-leaf rice at nite!! The curry complements the soft rice. After dinner as usual, head to A&W PJ for our ice-creams as desserts.

The new look of MFM

We haven't been to Manhattan Fish Market (MFM) for quite some time. Since they just had a 'face-lift' at their Subang Parade outlet, we'd thot we go there for fish n chips. I kinda liked its new deco....a refreshing change from the dull looking ones previously.

Firstly, the price has been increased. Now F&C is RM15.90. But the fish is definately a big portion and we had to share. And i think the batter has improved, its tastier and the white sauce more yummy.

They introduced a new dessert. Its called Meringue Splash. They're having a 50% discount promotion.

Its on the 'sweeter' side....very sweet!! The meringue taste like candy floss. Its only RM 3.95.

Restoran Tasik Indah, Shah Alam

Yesterday after office, i needed to scout around for a saloon that can make hairdo + makeup for my annual dinner next week. We went around Seksyen 9, Shah Alam. Since we're just around the area, bee said lets tryout the seafood restaurant that we've always heard about.

The scenery from the restaurant, nice greeny trees with breezy lake.

Ordered rice with some simple dishes.

Kangkung Belacan (RM10)...a bit salty

Beancurd with crabmeat (RM15.00)...quite soggy and too much garlic and ginger

Tiger Butter Prawn (RM25.00)....both of us agreed that this is quite tasty

The price is reasonable and service is quick, environment is nice cos its facing the brezzy lake. But i guess it will be a long time we'll come back ;)

Pondok

Pondok is a small quaint restaurant. Its located at PJS, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara.

Last saturday we made our way there. Bee read about the review in KLUE mag and thot we'd tryout.

Its lunch time and we ordered simple ala-carte dish each.

I had mee kari (RM6.80). Its quite tasty and not too oily.

Bee had nasi lemak (Rm5.80). Its quite ok but i guess the sambal need a bit of 'kick'.

The food is okey lah. Its still new and its operated by a penchant couple. I hope they'll do well but there are plenty of eatery places nearby its location.

Gasoline Cafe

Gasoline Cafe is located at the Asean Avenue cafe. Its serves fusion asian and international food.

Chicken Speghetti...doesn't look tempting at all isnt' it!?!

Dim Sum (Fried), this is the only dishes which is good

Dim Sum (Steam), its really lousy

Drinks, their ice-blended is not bad

Verdict : I think this will be the first and last time we come to have our meals here.
