Prince of Persia

It was a boring week and i kinda need to have a movie-fixed. So i didn't expect much from this movie, and wasn't planning on watching it after watching the trailer. But somehow the action sequences turned out to be pretty good in the movie. So i'm more than glad that i did. Not a Jake fan. And at first glance Jake wouldn't be my first choice for the role of the prince as i didn't think he really looked the part...but the movie itself is enjoyable, and not totally predictable storyline. I liked movies that is not easily predictable.

The A Team

Hubby & I grew up watching the series and how can i not wanna go watch the movie!! We felt that it is one of the funniest movies and with lotsa action from the start. The new A Team deserves all positive praises. Altho at the end of the movie, its kinda easy to decipher who was betraying the team...hehehe... Definately a must watch!

Toy Story 3

You've seen its 1 and 2....so you muz see its 3.

We must say, its the best movie....most of the character makes a nice warm welcome back with brand new toys too. Andy has grown up and Woody & Buzz has grown wiser too. This movie was completely worth the wait, its funny & hearwarming and i suggest that you go and watch em.

I was very skeptical when the movie came to shore. I don't fancy human looking people that looked like aliens. I mean, aliens should look alien lah....shouldn't look like human rite. Anyways, poor huby, he got to watch Avatar alone cos i wasn't interested.

But reveiws from all kinds of reading materials said it was a damn good movie. Huby also did some persuation and i alas, surrendered.

Boy!! I don't have regrets!! It was indeed a damn good movie. I don't mind watching it again..hehehe...

Good job James Cameron! I hope it topped his Titanic collection.

Twillight Saga - New Moon

D review was quite badly written but yet i wanna go and watch and waste my $$$. But since i've seen the part one...i guess i've no choice but wanna know what's in store in part two.

Personal review : 2 thumbs down......and d movie was draggy..... I juz can't wait for it to end actually...and when it finally ends, there was a feeling of disappointment...sigh...

All they have are some shirtless warewolves (of course their bods do justice!!) and well coiffed & cute vampires...hehehe...

Pisau Cukur d movie

Since the review were so good, i'd thot i'd give it a try....plus sometimes must support our country's movie industry lah (if u'd tink its worth watching).

"Pisau Cukur" is about two best friends name Bella (Maya Karin) and Intan (Fazura) who goes on a vacation. During the vacation, Bella searches for a rich husband, while Intan is involved in a murder case of a well known Datuk.....the rest of the story...u guys gotta watch em yourself...hehehe...

My personal review : 2 thumbs up!! Its a light & funny movie. No boring moments & kudos to d director & casts.

THIS IS IT

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!

MJ really is a LEGEND!! MJ is MAGIC!!

THIS IS IT, to me is definately MOVIE OF D YEAR!! I'm sure not even Transformers can beat-it!!. It is a 'documentary' movie abount MJ's months of rehearsals for d London Tour Concert which he said supposed to be his final one...

You wouldn't believe d magic that MJ still has in him. At d age of 50, he was still able to sing & dance exactly like he did 25 years ago to the beat of Billy Jean, Thriller & Beat it. MJ looked like he enjoyed himself during all d rehearsals.

I was moved by his gentle 'teguran' to one of d musician and he did not show any anger or frustrations and he wasn't like sum other arrogant, spoilt Hollywood artist...he don't even have d DIVA attitude.

Check out the lead guitarist girl, she played so well. She's so cool & pretty. MJ encourages her to shine on stage...he's not sellfish...he wants everybody who played at his concert to enjoy themselves. He said there's nothing to be nervous because its an adventure, a journey...(so touching). Check out the dancers too...they were really good and tis concert were supposed to be d best of d best becos u can see from d settings dat they planned, were juz awesome...i tink nobody can do a great concert like tis. Hats off to Kenny Ortega!!

Oya a tip here. When d movie ends....do wait till d very end...till d screen's off...there's a tiny-bit of MJ that will be featured at d end...do wait 4 it (wink* wink*)

MJ shall always be remembered by his fans now & forever.

Its a MUST-See Movie. May he rest in PEACE.

Semut The Movie

I sooo want to support our local movies....i always wanna try give them a chance by going to the movies and buy the tickets. Last week, i read in the local newspaper that this movie has very good review......hmmm....so 'terpengaruh'(influenced) wif the review, i forced bee to watch it wif me....he's sooo reluctant but u know lah him...alas he gave-in jugak..hehehe...

This movie, directed by Khabir Bhatia, a comedy genre and has many popular cast.

In 1847, Lord Arthur Barring asks a watchmaker to invent a postal stamp. However, an Indian governor laughs because there are some mistakes on the stamp. Lord Arthur Barring got angry and decided to throw away the stamp. 160 years later, Barring's grandchild, Charles Barring IV, produces the stamp at a press conference, now worth millions of ringgit. Scheming Joe (Afdlin Shauki) and Sid (Rashidi Ishak) want to steal the stamp. However, they are not alone....

....(the rest of the story, you all watch lah, maybe next year it will come out in one of our local tv channels...hahahaha...)

My verdict : a forgotten movie....1 or 2 funny liners but the rest...sigh...sigh....sigh....

The Proposal movie

I made/force bee to watch tis movie wif me....lucky tis time not so much objection frm him after i convince him tat its funny n dat i needed to destress....hehehe. Plus i told him to have an open mind abt this movie (cos he don't fancy mushy-mushy movies).

And he's got his mind open alrite!! He has his laff moments too....Its a nice movie, feel good movie and u dun have to use your brain for tis kinda movie.

Synopsis :

When high-powered book editor Margaret (Sandra Bullock) faces deportation to her native Canada, the quick-thinking exec declares that she's actually engaged to her unsuspecting put-upon assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds), who she's tormented for years. He agrees to participate in the charade, but with a few conditions of his own. The unlikely couple heads to Alaska to meet his quirky family and the always-in-control city girl finds herself in one comedic fish-out-of-water situation after another. With an impromptu wedding in the works and an immigration official on their tails, Margaret and Andrew reluctantly vow to stick to the plan despite the precarious consequences.

Verdict : Funny, i loved it!

New GSC in town & Harry Potter

Went to check out the new GSC in town....at the Tropicana Mall. New place...best lah kan. Went there to watch Harry Potter & the half blood prince.

The theatre is very spacios. They've actually made the seats bigger and so its more comfy.

Here, they sell 2 types of popcorn, go light or go caramel....n u gotta try d caramel ones....SEDAP!!!

The movie wuz soraitlah...but didn't have much umphh...probably the director is saving the best for last kot.

Ice Age 3, Dawn of the Dinosaurs

The 3rd installation that we saw last week were hillarious.

Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, and Scrat encounter a dinosaur population which survived extinction in its tropical paradise, which existed below the thick layers. Meanwhile, Crash and Eddie are up to their usual crazy selves. Manny and Ellie have since become an item are going to have their first baby, and Manny wants everything to be perfect when his baby arrives. Diego is tired of being treated like a "House-cat" and ponders the notion that he's being too laid back. Sid starts to wish for a family of his own until......(u gotta watch it yoursef...)

This movie is entertainingly good for kids...but we adults enjoyed it too. Look out for Scrat...he's cute and he gotta a bigger role this time...hehehe...

Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen

Trasnsformers, Revenge of the Fallen were just so AWESOME!!

No further explanation needed as reviews from newspapers, frens, fans of Optimus Prime has give positive feedback.

U wouldn't wanna missed this blockbuster movie, full of action!!

Nite at d Museum 2

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian


Ben Stiller returns!! Last nite, we juz had to go and watch it!! We are so lucky to get the 6:15pm show at OU. Had early dinner and go for the movie.

The plot:

Larry Daley, the unfortunate night watchman who continues to encounter living and breathing museum exhibits.

When the Museum of Natural History is closed for upgrades and renovations, the museum pieces are moved into federal storage at the famous Washington Museums. The centerpiece of the film will be bringing to life the Smithsonian Institution, which houses the world's largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections. Larry enlists the help of Amelia Earheart, who he develops a romantic interest in, and together they try to put everything back in order.


Our verdict : BEST!! FUNNY!! MUST GO & WATCH!! A good stres-reliever!! You think the 1st movie was fabulous, wait till you watch the 2nd one.....its even better!!

I was surprised myself! Usually you don't put much hope for the 2nd installation....but tis sequel is really funny, especially for 'families'. It has a few laugh-out-loud moments...its a BLAST!!

Race to Witch Mountain

Yes!! Finally we both got the chance to watch it. Of course being the fan of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson....how could we miss!!

Its a Walt Disney production and its a good movie for kids too.

Plot : Disney restarts their beloved Witch Mountain franchise with this family-friendly adventure. Dwayne Johnson stars as a taxi driver who gets more than get bargained for when he picks up two teen runaways. Not only does the pair possess supernatural powers, but they're also trying desperately to escape people who have made them their targets. (info from Googles)

Our review : A DEFINATELY GOOD MOVIE. Its light and feel-good movie. A must watch.

Watchmen (Movie)

Oyes, i forgot to review the movie that i get to watch with frens last friday. It was an impromtu decision to watch movie and since its been quite sometime that we saw it together, we unanimosly decided 'Watchmen'.

We chose 'Watchmen' since the banner looks promising and that the review in the newspaper gave a 4star. Plus the were so much hype about this movie.

Men!!! Don't waste your money!! Don't watch 'Watchmen'.....its really horibble. No storyline, no plot and damn confuse...at least to me-lah!! Urghh...its just so TERUK!!!

I was oredi not comfortable in my seat after half and hour of the show but you just stay put....later when our couple fren also shared the same sentiment, the four of us agreed to walk-out of the 'stopid' movie. Can you imagine, the whole theatre were full!! Its our very FIRST TIME that we ever walked-out of a movie without waiting for it to end!!! We just can't take it anymore. We heard the movie is about 2 1/2 hour.

But since we're with good company, we don't really feel bad about it. And i have spread the news to frens to NOT watch 'WATCHMEN'...don't even buy the DVD!!

Slumdog Millionaire

So many hype about this movie....i gotta watch it! And watch it, I did! Actually bee saw it first and recommended that i too see it.

Its not a dissappointment at all. Really good story. I do hope that they'll get some oscars. Bollywood have made their mark this time in Hollywood. This movie has actors and actresses that are not familiar but its ok with me.

Inkheart

So nice to have Friday as an 'off' day.....what is more better when huby also get time-off...hehehe.

Went to watch morning show. Since Inkheart were just released yesterday, we must go and see it, especially watching Brendan Frasier in action.

Plot : Mo has the special talent to bring characters out of books. One night he brings out three characters from Inkheart, a story set in medieval times and filled with magical beings. Capricorn and Basta, two villains, and Dustfinger, a fire-eater. Now, 10 years later Meggie discovers the truth and it's up to her to escape Capricorn's evil grasp.

Our verdict : the movie was nice but unfortunately it was a bit draggy. It does entertained us lar.

Bedtime Stories

Again, not a fan of Adam Sandler but since the review were promising, both bee and me decided to go and watch. On saturday went to One Utama before the traffic starts crawling and saw the morning show.

Genre : Action/Comedy

Plot : Hotel handyman Skeeter Bronson's life is changed forever when the bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to mysteriously come true. He attempts to take advantage of the phenomenon, incorporating his own aspirations into one outlandish tale after another, but it's the kids' unexpected contributions that turn Skeeter's life upside down. Our verdict : hey, not bad at all. Much better then Four Christmases and so much funnier. I think kids would loved this movie. If you have time to take your kids for movies, this is definately a must see.

Four Christmases

Paid so expensive to watch this movie. Usually we'll go watch movie on Wednesday or the morning show to get the early bird price. But since on the 2nd of Jan 2009, both of us didn't have anyting to do, we decided to go and watch the movie.

I donno why i thot this movie is gonna be nice especially when i don't even like Reese Witherspoon or Vince Vaughn.... I guess i thot its gonna be a funny movie...boy, was i wrong.

Our verdict : B O R I N G! ! ! Bee said on the scale of 10, he gives a 3...hehehe...i agreed!

Yes Man

Yes Man is a movie with Jim Carrey casting. I'm no fan of Jim but i did watch him in action on some movies, eg. Batman (where he was the Riddler), Fun with Dick & Jane and Lemony's Snickets. I don't fancy him in Ace Ventura, The Grinch and The Mask....he's irritating.

You guys gotta watch this movie...its hillarious!! Its really really funny!! MUST WATCH!!

Genre : Comedy

Verdict : 5 star!!! Best funny movie to end the year of 2008.

Transporter 3

Who ever wonder that Transporter franchise can make movie till number 3? How could bee and i missed this movie cos we've been following its first and second movie. Furthermore the actor Jason Statham memang best...too bad he didn't get the part to be James Bond.

The plot (cut & paste from google) : Frank Martin (Jason Statham) has been pressured into transporting Valentina (Natalya Rudakova), the kidnapped daughter of Leonid Vasilev (Jeroen Krabbe), through the use of a device attached to his wrist which will explode if Frank goes more than 75 feet from his car. Vasilev is the head of the Environmental Protection Agency for Ukraine. He must travel from Marseilles through Stuttgart and Budapest until he ends up in Odessa on the Black Sea. With the help of Inspector Tarconi (Francois Berleand), Frank must contend with the people who strong-armed him into taking the job, agents sent by the Ukraine government to intercept him, and the general non-cooperation of his passenger. Despite Valentina's cynical disposition and Frank's resistance to get involved, Frank and Valentina fall for each other, while escaping from one life-threatening situation after another. Statham again drives an armored Audi A8 W12 in the film.

Verdict : ok-ok lar. The action was sorait and the storyline was fine. I enjoyed it nevertheless.

Madagascar, Escape to Africa

Saw Madagascar last weekend....sempat jugak dalam sibok-sibok tu..hehehe... At first we contemplated cos the review was not that good. Plus all the nieces and nephews said it wasn't that good too. But cos we saw the first one, we decided we had to see the continuation.

Genre : Animation and Comedy and Adventure

The plot : In the highly-anticipated sequel to 'Madagascar,' Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, King Julien, Maurice and the penguins and the chimps find themselves marooned on the distant shores of Madagascar. In the face of this obstacle, the New Yorkers have hatched a plan so crazy it just might work. With military precision, the penguins have repaired an old crashed plane--sort of. Once aloft, this unlikely crew stays airborne just long enough to make it to the wildest place of all--the vast plains of Africa, where the members of our zoo-raised crew encounter species of their own kind for the very first time. Africa seems like a great place...but is it better than their Central Park home?

But it turns out all rite. I think i enjoyed the movie and its really quite funny.
