Chocolate Volcano

Lately i'm so into desserts. Went jalan-jalan at The Curve and end up at Vivo. Both of us shared a medium thinly crust pizza....hmmm...not bad (RM18.90).

And for dessert, we had Volcanic Chocolate with vanilla ice-cream (RM12.90). Emmm....i just loved the chocolate cream coming out of the hot from the oven cake. To order this dish, you must give them at least 10 minutes to prepare the cake. And its worth it. Its very good.

Look at how the chocolate just melt out from the choc cake, still hot n fresh from the oven....emmm...yummee.

Outing with cuzzy

I've always tried to get some time off to see my another cuzin, Nina. Most of the time our time clashes and most of the time i'll be the one who can't make it but i'm so glad that today i'm able to make it and so does she!!

We both shared this sucellent scallop, japanese style!

She fetched me at my office and i gave her the belated b'day gift and some chocs from bee. We drove to Subang Parade. Initially we make plans to go to One Utama but weather doesn't allow us to do that. We spent most of our time at Sakae Sushi for dinner. We chatted, gossip, eat, drink, gossip again and chatted and did our shopping at Kassa.

So good to be able to catch up on old stories and latest gossips..hehehe. Wished we could do it more often. We left SP around 9.30pm....how time flies...

Secret of Louisiana (Seafood*Steak*Cajun Style)

Early this year our fave newspaper reviewed about this new place in town. As usual the one who notices this place will be huby lar. Anything to do with western dishes and he'll have his eyes wide open!! The reviews were promising and so we made our way there last weekend. Altho at that time i wasn't feeling very well but i still need to eat right.

I guess this place is a good place to hang out especially with families or friends. If time permits we would like to tryout its food at nite, for a change of environment.

Louisiana's cuisine served a lot of seafood, pasta and meat. After reading its review about its Seafood Jambalaya, which is actually a risotto rice cooked with asssorted seafood, with vegetables eg. lieke, tomatoes, celery and some herbs. And its really really good!! This dish is served with 4 pieces of garlic toast bread and you have to dip it in the seafood bumbo. Just nice for two...really yummy.

Seafood Gumbo (RM19.90)

We decided to order its lunch set which is RM 12.90 which includes ice-lemon tea and a scoop of ice-cream. I had the speghetti with chicken herbs.

Bee ordered Tangerine Chicken. Bee said this is a must try. The chicken taste really american and the lemony sauce goes well with the rice. Its yummy!

This new restaurant is located at the new Plaza Kelana Jaya. Just behind the defunct Kelana Jaya Seafood. The restaurant is facing the Kelana Jaya lake. I think this new place has lotsa potential for "makan place" but not many people still aware cos its tucked somewhere near the housing area. I hope they will do better.

Tropicana City Mall

This is the newest mall located at Damansara Utama, PJ. Carrefour is its anchor tenant. Its has many retail lots and plenty of new cafes and kopitiam. They have a tropical theme. Coconut and palm trees as well as tropical flowers were planted. They have the “island stalls” concept.

Its quite big altho from the outside it look small.

Restoran Sri Nirwana

Last saturday a couple fren wanted to go for Indian banana-leaf rice. Of course we're delighted to join them. We met them at Bangsar and proceed to the restaurant. Its called Restoran Sri Nirwana, opposite Bangsar Village II and beside the Ambank. The restaurant is jam packed with people man!! And some have to wait for their tables.

Our yummy banana-leaves rice with condiments and curry....lots of curries.

Fried Squid and Fish Cutlet
We all agreed the food is good considering we hardly had banana-leaf rice at nite!! The curry complements the soft rice. After dinner as usual, head to A&W PJ for our ice-creams as desserts.

New York New York Deli

Seen this place a few times but only last week got the chance to actually go in and eat. Usually we'll browse thru its menu and decided next time we'll come but last week, we betul-betul go in. The reason we didn't go in the first time we saw it was becos the placing of the restaurant was quite odd actually. Its opposite Cold Storage and its open concept. Passers-by can see you eat!! No wonder they call it a deli!!

Finally as we sat in their cozy booth, we decided to have their recommended dish. They have other dishes eg. sandwiches, burgers, pizza and pastas and assortments of drinks, lattes, etc.

Bee had Brats wrapped in Turkey bacon (RM16.90). Huby said the fries really tasted like the ones in US, watever that means...hehehe... The jumbo sausage tasted really good with a slice of turkey and topped with cheese.

I had Latino Chicken Chop (RM18.90). Their salad were fresh & healthy, no heavy dressings. The grilled chicken were tender. I especially liked the home-made wedges.

The place is quite nice actually. We found out that its a Singapore based restaurant !

The new look of MFM

We haven't been to Manhattan Fish Market (MFM) for quite some time. Since they just had a 'face-lift' at their Subang Parade outlet, we'd thot we go there for fish n chips. I kinda liked its new deco....a refreshing change from the dull looking ones previously.

Firstly, the price has been increased. Now F&C is RM15.90. But the fish is definately a big portion and we had to share. And i think the batter has improved, its tastier and the white sauce more yummy.

They introduced a new dessert. Its called Meringue Splash. They're having a 50% discount promotion.

Its on the 'sweeter' side....very sweet!! The meringue taste like candy floss. Its only RM 3.95.

Inkheart

So nice to have Friday as an 'off' day.....what is more better when huby also get time-off...hehehe.

Went to watch morning show. Since Inkheart were just released yesterday, we must go and see it, especially watching Brendan Frasier in action.

Plot : Mo has the special talent to bring characters out of books. One night he brings out three characters from Inkheart, a story set in medieval times and filled with magical beings. Capricorn and Basta, two villains, and Dustfinger, a fire-eater. Now, 10 years later Meggie discovers the truth and it's up to her to escape Capricorn's evil grasp.

An adventure of a father and his young daughter, searching for a long lost book that will help reunite a missing, close relative, this fantasy takes a darker side whenever we hear Mo 'Silvertongue' Folchart reading out aloud from books. His ability to rise to life, to export, to release figures out of the page and into the real world is only relevant when the darker side of his stories appear to reek havoc and destruction. Join in the fantasy and revel at the marvel of Books in this adventure of adventures' that brings the best stories throughout the decades to life that transcends beyond imagine

Our verdict : the movie was nice but unfortunately it was a bit draggy. It does entertained us lar.

East Meets West

The above is this year's annual dinner theme. Easy rite! Yes....but we still do ponder what to wear to the very last minute.

I decided to wear a vintage/antic kebaya from my late tokmak's. I just sew some beads just to make it look a bit shiny...nothing to elaborate...i don't like to attract....i'm so timid and shy nowadays compared to when i was in my teens and early 20's. I don't like to make grand entrace, i don't like to make small talks during pre-annual dinner (just before the door opens) and i don't like to 'stand-out'. For me, just enough i come and comply with the theme and enjoy myself and let my hair-down. Gosh!! I'm such an introvert!!! I used to lurve to mingle with colleagues and frens, i lurve making a grand entrace and i lurve the attraction!! But i guess people change....they 'do' change and they 'can' change.

Company is so generous to give us half day today and 'off' day tomoro. Most of the ladies went to do hairdo and make-up. I'm happy with my hair-do and happy with the make-up...nothing too thick or too elaborate....as long as it looks natural.

Our door gifts were a shoe bag!! Plus each person is given a voucher and you get to exchange it with an envelope which hang on a 'sakura' tree. I got a RM100 Guardian voucher. Some received the same amount from either Jusco or Parkson voucher. Then we get to queue to get our face drawn from a caricature artists. I got mine done....so funny!!

Food is as usual 'chinese set style' but i especially like the 'western' dessert, caramel with choc-cake. The entertainment was sorait but the emcee of the nite were impressive. The dance start at 11:15pm but i left around 11:45pm......penat beb. Some of the girls stayed till 2am.

Shogun Japanese Restaurant

Yesterday we had our 1st National Sales Conference. It was indeed a tiring event, especially the pre and post event. We had to prepare months and weeks before the 4 days conference, many things need to be prepared/done...I can't wait for the CNY holidays to rest.

This year we had it at Sheraton Subang. As usual by 'default' we're at the registration table.
Anyway today is our department team dinner and tomorrow is our Annual Dinner and since our annual dinner falls on a thursday nite, the company is generously giving Friday a holiday, yayy (clap...clap...clap).

Central Chicks

Out-station Ladies

The only 2 guys in PINK!

Today we get to meet and mingle with the branches administrators....its a time for 'bonding' lar...hehehe... Say only but most of the time we end up bonding with our own team....so mean!!

This is my plate. I didn't get to eat much cos i was too tired and when i'm too tired, i lost appetite to eat....rugi tak dapat merasa most of the japs food that i so lurve.

Its my first time at Shogun Sunway Pyramid. The buffet were abundance and foods were good.

Restoran Tasik Indah, Shah Alam

Yesterday after office, i needed to scout around for a saloon that can make hairdo + makeup for my annual dinner next week. We went around Seksyen 9, Shah Alam. Since we're just around the area, bee said lets tryout the seafood restaurant that we've always heard about.

The scenery from the restaurant, nice greeny trees with breezy lake.

Ordered rice with some simple dishes.

Kangkung Belacan (RM10)...a bit salty

Beancurd with crabmeat (RM15.00)...quite soggy and too much garlic and ginger

Tiger Butter Prawn (RM25.00)....both of us agreed that this is quite tasty

The price is reasonable and service is quick, environment is nice cos its facing the brezzy lake. But i guess it will be a long time we'll come back ;)
