Shenzen, mainland China

First day we arrived in Hong Kong airport, we were given an hour an a half to have our lunch. At the same time we took the opportunity 'jalan-jalan' around the airport. I had Popeye's shrimp value meal which cost me a freaking HK54!! Later we had to go to a ferry terminal for a tranfer to Shenzen. The immigration takes forever. After pulling our bags to the coach, we were taken to Windows of the World.

The place were fabulous. Within one day, you are able to visit many famous sites from different countries. You can find Angkor Wat, Cambodia as well as European architectural splendours such as Eiffel Tower, Ancient Athens, London Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Colosseum, etc. I'm impressed with the Pyramids and Sphinx and the Niagara Falls. Except for Manhattan and New York, to me, its not that impressive. Too bad KL Twin Towers are not there!

We stayed at Best Western Felicity Hotel. Not a bad 4 star hotel. Its just a walking distance to the Louhu mall.

I had my diner at a muslim restaurant and surprisingly the food is tasty. In fact for my 2 days stay there, the food has been satisfied.

The next day, we went to Louho Commercial City Mall. They have thousands of small shops there that sells imitation original. I was told that they have a grades to the imitation goods, from C, B and AAA. I didn't buy much of imitation goodsbut a few cute pouches for soveniers. We didn't spend much time there cos after that we had to go for another tour.

Visited 'Splendid of China'. It has more then 80 replicas of typical Chinese ancient buildings. Among them are the Great Wall of China, the Imperial Palace, the Temple of Confucius, etc. They have China Folk Cultures Villages. We took a tramp to go around the place and take photos of the beautiful sceneries. I enjoyed mostly their Cultural Dances, i find it spectacular. They are very professional and their stage technical is so international standard!! They also performed ancient battle. There were 4 performances altogether but one peformance were not allowed to take pictures. Its like skimming through the Chinese history at every step and touring around China in one day.

The tour ends late evening. I was mostly tired so i didn't join some of the girls who wanted to continue their shopping at the mall. I put a nite quite early on the second day which is so unlike me....but i guess i was too damn tired.

Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!

At 9am sharp today we picked up my parents. They wanted to go to Matta Fair. We're suppose to bring them there cos they wanna confirm their trip (erm...mama said don't tell other people yet where they're going...sigh....) Initially bee and me just wanna stay outside and wait for them to pay the deposit to the travel agent and confirm their trip. But papa insisted that we join them. Mau tak mau, terpaksa jugak lah ikut depa!! Come to think about it nasib baik jugak kitorang ikut cos we all sempat jalan-jalan survey-survey and finished everything around 1pm.

Later took them to Insaf Restoran for lunch....sigh....tak insaf-insaf jugak. Nak jugak makan kat sana!! Tak tau perlaris apa depa pakai nor!!hehehe. Lepaih tu jalan-jalan kat Semua House sampai petang.

We sent them back late evening, i think my parents were already tired and they needed some rest. After dropping them off, both of us decided that we do not wanna go home yet. Bee drove us to One Utama....mana lagi kan!!

We just decided spontaneously to watch the movie Dr Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! From the creator of Ice Age.

The plot :
In the movie "Horton Hears a Who," Jim Carey is the voice of Horton, the inventive and imaginative elephant who teaches his young friends about the amazing world around them. One day Horton, with his big ears, hears a voice on a speck of dust floating in the jungle air. Horton catches the speck on a dandelion, and begins to talk to the speck. The Mayor of Whoville (voice Steve Carell) talks to Horton, and the Mayor can not believe that there is something bigger than his world. After there are several climate changes (darkness in the middle of the day and snow in summer) that occur in Whoville, the Mayor believes that his world is in great danger. The Mayor tries to warn his people of the impending doom, but everybody ridicules him and thinks he is crazy. Horton is getting the same reaction from everyone who thinks he is also crazy; especially the kangaroo (voice Carol Burnett) who wants to get rid of the speck, and Horton's wild ideas. Horton defends the speck by saying that "a person's a person, no matter how small." Horton talks to the Mayor and tells him that he is going to put the speck in a safe place and out of danger.....the rest of the story.....u must go and watch lar....don't want to be a spoiler....hehehe

Review : Yes!! Definately funny and ticklish. There is a moral behind the story. Definately suitable for kids as well as adults. Go see it.

Matta Fair

I took leave today to go to Matta Fair. Its my first time there. Wanted to look for ground transfer to Bali. Yeah, we booked the flight early this year (hehehe) when AA offered great fare to Indonesia. We didn't tell anyone about it cos we didn't have other details for the trips, like accommodation and itinerary. No point telling others when you don't have enough details right, hehehe. We purposely waited for the Matta fair to get a good deal on Bali hotels/tours. And the second reason is also to find a good rate for Bangkok. A couple fren is going to Bangkok on the 1st week of May. We thot we'd love to join them, if possible :)

Once we bought our entrace ticket which is RM3 per person, took our free tote-bags, the first thing we did was to check-out the Bangkok package. Man! They were so many people! Initially we thot we could get a good package deal but we surveyed and make inquiries and nothing came out to our budget. The flights be it Air-Asia, MAS and Thai Airways were so expensive, it cost about RM1,200K for one person for flight only, belum masuk ground transfer and accommodation lagi!! No wonderlah, its peak season since 1st May is Labour Day around the world (i didn't know, bee told me, hehe). We really really wanted so much to join our good friend to Bangkok but its just not meant to be. Sorry guys, maybe next time insyallah, next destination??!!

At last after making several inquiries, several stops at most of the booths, walking around the exhibition halls for many rounds, collecting brochures along the way, being harassed by numerous sales promoters, kaki pun dah sakit, finally, we managed to get a good deal for Bali.

All the while, bee already decided that we should go there for relaxation and stay at some 'less-crowded' place. As you know, i'm a beach lover, so i wanted to stay in some beach-front hotel but hotels in Kuta/Legian area does not have private beach and i'm not that keen on Sanur area. We've been checking-out Bali maps via internet for the past few months and we decided and identified to stay somewhere in Tanjung Benoa/Nusa Dua area which is more quiet. We also read so many reviews about hotels/resorts/villas around the area.

We were about to engage with one hotel representative from Bali; until we came across Tradewinds Travel Agency who matches our requirement but with more goodies added-in such as; ground transfer, full board halal-meals and 2 full days tour. It might cost a little bit more but i guess it saves our time looking for meals and tours (actually i takda masa nak check-out on meal places and tours.....overwhelm with work-work-work).

Bee suggested the resort since we both fell in love with the place after looking at their promising brochures. It looks relaxing and peaceful. The hotel is only 20 minutes away from the airport and they have shuttle service twice a day to go to Kuta town which is only 25 minutes away. At first bee wanted to stay in Ubud area but I don't want to stay in a too secluded area altho' the sceneries were beautiful. Alas he gave in to me and we unanimously decided to stay in Tanjung Benoa. Insyallah, we'll be going there some time in June. Up till today nobody knows (incl my immediate family n relatives) about us going Bali except for those who reads this blog, hehehe.

Jack's Place

After office-hours yesterday, bee n i went to One Utama. I needed to alter my jeans which i bought at the Just Jeans outlet months ago. There were so many people becos its school holiday and sale time again, hence the place were quite pack with people.

We were walking towards the new wing and trying to figure out where to eat. There were so many places to choose from but i'm quite 'muak' with fast-food already and Secret Recipe and Fish & Co doesn't look tempting at that moment.

I wanted to take a peep at the 'Wh' when we saw people queing up at 'Jack's Place'. We always passed by this place but never had the 'temptation' to wanna go in. We thot we'd just browse thru their menus and see what's nice. Entah macam-mana we decided to give it a try.

I'm not being bias here but this place rocks!! The food received bee and my 2 thumbs up. Bee orded the dinner set which offered shrimp cocktail, garlic bread, mushroom soup, grilled rib-eye steak with scallop, coffee/tea and dessert of the day. Initially i wanted to order the set too but then i know that i would not be able to finish my main dish and i'll just share bee's other dishes. I ordered fish n chips....duh!! What else could i order lar....hehehe

The toasted garlic bread came first, memang tasty (like the normal ones you tried in other restaurants lah). Then the shrimp & chicken cocktail. The thousand island is sooo delicious unlike the normal ones that we always had. We wiped out everyting and came the mushroom soup......perhhh.....sedapnya!! We're thinking, eh, not bad jugak this place. But we don't wanna put high hope.

Then my main dish came. The breaded-crumb on my fish were so incredibly sedap!! The fish, not to over-cooked and juicy. Their tar-tar sauce must have been home-made cos its soooo sedap!! They were generous with their fries and salad. Later bee's main dish pulak came. I took a bite on his saute vege....i've never tasted a perfectly cooked vege....its not overcooked, the carrot and long beans were cruncy and tasty. Bee said he gives 9 out of 10 for his beef!! Wow!! He knows he's beef, so i know the beef must've been good! I took a bite of the corn on the cob....itupun sedap....crunch and juicy. I think the cook must have make sure that everything on the place is of good quality! No wonderlar....this restaurant originated from Singapore. They surely have high-standard on their food preparation.

We're thinking, how come we didn't discover this place earlier despite reading its review from magazines/newspapers and other people's blog.....but now we know we're gonna be their regulars...hehehe, maybe in 2 weeks time ke?? The bills came out to a surprisingly very very 'reasonable'!! They have another outlet in Sunway Pyramid's Oasis Boulevard. There's so much more other dishes to tryout. Can't wait!!

Sri Chin Thai Restaurant

Yesterday the committe members for NSC meeting were treated for lunch at this Thai Restaurant. The reason to it was becos we had a successful NSC meeting in January and yesterday is the only time we get to gather for lunch. We used to frequent this place becos its quite near to the office. There were two tables but only 14 of us.

We ordered Tomyam seafood.

Sizzling Taufu (memang shiok!)

Steam Cod-Fish (tender & succelent)

Fried 4types of vegetable (their specialilty, very nice!)

Fried chicken with thai sauce (sedap!)

Sambal sotong (so-so lar..)

Thai Fried Rice (not to my liking, very sticky)

Longan & Sea coconut (too sweet)

Overall the gatherings were fun cos we get to exchange gossips with other members from other department.

Just Heavenly Cake

Today is one of SOD's girl birthday. Ah boss asked me to order cake since last week. We put in 3 names on the cake cos all of their b'day falls in March. I ordered Oreo Cheese Cake, cost RM88 and delivery charges is RM20. Total RM108.00
All these while we have been ordering cakes from Secret Recipe and i think i've got enough of their cakes. Of course their cheese cakes are un-deniably sedap but i've tried all their cakes flavours till there's none to try. For a change, why not give 'Just Heavenly' a try.

The nice package

The simple looking cake.

Birthday girls.

Review of cake : Out of 10 people, 10 would say 'delicious'. Very nice, the texture is not rich but yet full of flavours and cheesy which is not too heavy. Makan banyak pun tak rasa muak. Ah boss puji cake sedap, yeah!! I'm glad most of them liked it. I lurve it too. Next time, i'll definately order from 'Just Heavenly'....just worth it!!

Old shoes & purse

My frens were asking me why do i need to buy new shoes when i can always use old shoes for my HK trip. I told them, i usually buy stuff when its either 'rosak', 'koyak', 'pecah' or 'kopak'. I will not buy expensif stuff un-necesssary lar...usually! Most of the time, its something that i don't have or something that needed replacement. But its an exception for 'retail-therapy' ya, itu kita mesti buy something lar...he.he...

This shoe was given by my sis-inlaw years ago. I wore this when i go overseas or outstation trips. Its made of leather and very very comfy. I kept it in the shoe-cabinet, few weeks ago when i check it, its beyond repair as the fungus has monopolise most of the sole area, so grotty.

Last sunday, I was doing spring-cleaning, so i too a pic of it. That is why i bought the new nike cos it needed replacement. I threw some others shoes too which has been in the shoe-cabinet and which has not been worn for a long time.

Since i was with the camera oredi, i also took a pic of the purse that needed replacement too. Its so sentimental....so hard to part with it.

So guys!! Bukan 'mengada-ngada' ya....memang benda perlu di-beli.

Polling Day & Results

This morning i was quite excited to go voting! I woke up early and dress-up and get ready to go to the Sekolah Rendah Kelana Jaya. I was there at 7:45am. Once i register myself at the SPR counter, i waited at Lane 3 to cast my vote. I'm glad to be able to do my part as a Malaysian citizen.

Now at the very moment, i'm typing my blog while listening intensively to the polling results. I'm so sad to know that Sharizat lost. She worked hard to fight for women welfare. Its just so sad n shocking!! I'm also sad that Lee Hwa Beng lost to a young newcomer who all these while stayed in Shanghai!! Both of them has really worked their butt-off man!! Tan Sri Khalid being the MB for Selangor?? I think I'm ok with it after-all he's not that extreme!

Whatever it is, things has happened. Its up to everybody to look back and ponder. I guess I'm ok with the results. I think it will be an eye opener to everyone. I believed that things happened for a reason (a couple fren of ours said that too). I hope and prayed for peace in this country!

I have no other words. I just want to live happy, no discrimination and have multi-intergration among other races. ...Change is good...i guess...

New Lala Chong Restaurant & Polling

Ah Boss took us to the new Lala Chong, i think the place is somewhere near Ara Damasara. The place is clean and airy. The food is as tasty as the old Lala Chong. We ordered lala soup, salted prawns, fried squid, paku sambal, sizzling taufu and black pepper venison for ah boss and 'M'. Since there's only 5 of us, we didn't order fish or chicken. The lala today is so 'bloddy' fresh and must mentioned here oso, its size is big too!! Altho not many variety but at the end of the session, our stomach is so bloated!!

Tomorrow is polling day. Please vote for 'Stability'. I'm sure those who value peace in the country will vote wisely. I can't wait to do my part tomorrow. My voting place will be in Kelana Jaya. After voting, hubby and me will drive back to Seremban cos he's voting place is in Bukit Chedang. I wish everybody 'Selamat Mengundi' - Undilah dengan bijak!

Toast Box & Chilli's

Yesterday, i sort of forced bee to take leave (hehe) cos i took leave for today. I wanna go jalan-jalan at Pavillion. Can't get enough of that place, furthermore Parkson is having sale.

As usual we reached there at 10:30am, wanted to take our breakfast at The Loaf but their portion is hefty and hence we opt for smaller portions instead, we had our breakfast for the first time at Toast Box at the Food Republic. We're curious to know whats nice there. Bee treated!! We took a set each which consist of coffee, a set of roti-bakar and half-boil egg which cost RM6.80 per set. And ordered 2 bungkus of nasi lemak. Boleh tahan lah the nasi lemak altho we find it too expensive for a small portion at RM2.50. The eggs came out perfectly and the roti bakar's butter n kaya is generous filling. I had kopi o and bee had kopi and they're really good. The portion made us full till lunch.

Sempat beli J-Co donut for my dessert at home. But after today, i don't think i will 'mengidam' for donuts for months to come....donno why lar....muak pulak.

Actually the reason i had to go to Pavillion is becos the shoe that i wanted so badly can only be found in Nike Pavillion. Yesterday i make a few calls to Nike shops in Sunway, Subang Parade, The Curve, Ikano, BSC, KLCC and they're all either out of stock or no size. Alas, i got my simple Mary Jane and it fit me perfectly!! So now i hope i would not have problems with shoes anymore.

Dah habis satu Pavillion jalan-jalan, bee suggested that we go KLCC since he hated going there during weekends. Went to Isetan and wanted to survey my wallet which has already given way. The old wallet that i've been carrying till now was bought in 1995, when we're still courting. It has lasted for a very very long time. I still remembered he bought me a Hilly for my birthday at Sogo, KL. I have been getting wallets for gifts but my fave is still that Hilly. I had scouted for another Hilly to replace it but not to my taste, i've been looking at other brands, tapi tak berkenan. I thot if i'd survey the price here and do comparison then maybe when i'm in Hong Kong, i can decide whether to buy it here or there. Entah macam-mana terberkenan a Balenciaga wallet at a 30% discount, bee said belilah nanti menyesal. So that's what i did!!

Jalan punye jalan punye jalan sampai perut pun perlu di-isi. Bee said he wanted to sample the appetiser in Chilli's. We found a nice view seating which is facing the KLCC lake. If you go during lunch or dinner time, chances is you can't choose seats. It was 3.30pm and the place is not that packed. We had 'triple-play' which consists of 3 pcs of yummy fried chicken breast, 4 pcs of guacomole with its jack-cheese and 5 pcs of buffolo wings with their dip sauce. Later we ordered 1 main-dish. I told bee that we had to share it cos Chilli's served large portion and i can never finished it. We had a rib with chicken breast combo. Itupun tak habis! Tapau the appetiser.

We left KL before 5pm cos bee wanna beat the jam. Guess what we had for dinner? We had J-Co donuts and 2 pcs of guacomole which we tapau-ed back from Chilli's. The stomach is still very full. Imagine i tak habiskan 1 more piece of donut....just cannot!!!

Domino's Pizza

Surely most people eat Pizza. I'm a fan of pizza, i've sample Pizza Uno, Piccollo Mondo, Pizza Hut and Shakey's. Huby n me lurve Shakeys but too bad they don't last long. There's only one or two outlet in Klang Valley and some of them has been taken over by Domino's.

The first time we had Dominos was when they newly opened their flag store in Subang Jaya sometime in the 90's. We don't fancy them that much. But lately we loike eating there. We had it for our dinner yesterday at Mid Valley. I'm still on a quest to find a suitable shoe...up till today...none!!

We ordered set for 2 and ordered extra bar-b-q chicken wings. I think now, Domino's is so much better then Pizza Hut in terms of their filling, they're generous!! If you go to Pizza Hut, you will find that their filling is getting lesser and lesser and cheese also not so much!! But try and sample Domino's, especially their thin crust, seriously delicious!! Their coleslaw pun sedap giler...plus their bar-b-q chicken is an A++.

Those who's oredi a fan of Dominos, bravo!!
