Nite at d Museum 2

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian

Ben Stiller returns!! Last nite, we juz had to go and watch it!! We are so lucky to get the 6:15pm show at OU. Had early dinner and go for the movie.

The plot:
Larry Daley, the unfortunate night watchman who continues to encounter living and breathing museum exhibits.

When the Museum of Natural History is closed for upgrades and renovations, the museum pieces are moved into federal storage at the famous Washington Museums. The centerpiece of the film will be bringing to life the Smithsonian Institution, which houses the world's largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections. Larry enlists the help of Amelia Earheart, who he develops a romantic interest in, and together they try to put everything back in order.

Our verdict : BEST!! FUNNY!! MUST GO & WATCH!! A good stres-reliever!! You think the 1st movie was fabulous, wait till you watch the 2nd one.....its even better!!

I was surprised myself! Usually you don't put much hope for the 2nd installation....but tis sequel is really funny, especially for 'families'. It has a few laugh-out-loud moments...its a BLAST!!

New foodie

I bought something new last week. An office colleagues bought this packet and asked her whether she brought it overseas but in actual fact, its sold in hypermarket, G. Apalagi, tanpa membuang masa...

I quickly bought it becos i want it to be a food that bee and i can munch while we're watching tv, etc (when we have early dinner). It can also be eaten with milk but eating it on its own is also nice, plus healthy, hehehe. No more munching on 'muruku' or crispy potatoes or other junk food....hehehe.

This week my sis-inlaw who juz came back from the States gave us this. Its huby's fave but since he's trying to control his food, he decided that i brought it to office and share it with frens.

And last but not least. I got the chance to buy Gardenia's latest product, the butterscotch! Yes, memang sedap di makan begitu sahaja. I lurved it!! I bought it and introduce it and share it with some of my ofis colleagues and they agreed, SEDAP!! Its soft, its sweet and its butterscotch!!

Healthy Food??

Last week, a colleague of mine promoted this place. She said lets go for some healthy food for a change. She went to tis place with her sister and said that its worth d try.

Here we are!! Ordering a set meal meal each which comes with fruit juice-smoothie and dessert. You won't miss this place if you are in S.Parade. Its is right in the middle of the mall.

The food was okey. . Each of us ordered different set-meals. Its mostly hot wraps which they use smoked chicken breast and lotsa tomotoes. onion & other veges for filling. Its like eating soft crepes with savories filling.

I only don't fancy their salad which i gave it to another colleages. I probably don't like the balsamic oil that goes with the salad. But to the other the salad was sorait.

The juice is said to be healthy cos they don't use sugar and they blend the whole thing together, i had grape-smoothie by the way.

But the best of all is their dessert. I had Oreo Cheese and i must compliment their cheese, way delicious!! I must find time to got there again and juz go for its Oreo Cheese...hehehe...yummylicious!!

Happy Birthday Bee

Today bee turns 39. I hoped and prayed for his good health, wealth & happiness. "Semoga panjang umur & murah rezeki & sihat selalu".
I took leave today and prepared a light breakfast. Later went to the clinic to get bee's medicine changed. The earlier medicine that he was taking doesn't suit him.

Since we're were hungry and cannot wait any longer, we went to the nearest place where we could find food. The only place available was chicken rice shop and we end up in S.Recipe. I had the black-pepper grilled chicken and bee had cream-herb grilled chicken (without salt also, sedap lah). I ordered for him fruit juice. Its either fruit juice with less sugar or plain water for him from now on. No caffinated drinks and no carbonated drinks.

Later we all jalan-jalan to One Utama. Didn't go for too long cos bee is not that well yet so we head back home to rest.

8:00pm, we all went to tokmak's house to fetch my aunty and cuzin. They treated us for bee's birthday at Tramcar. The 3 of us girls, had local and we forced b'day boy to eat western, hehehe. And so he ordered barbeque fish without salt to go with his tomyam soup without salt too. A.miah had mihun goreng, cuzin fairos had her 'asyik-asyik nasi-goreng' and i had mihun-soup which taste is still consistant. After meal, a.miah & fairos forced us to order ice-cream...we succumbed to it lar...i ordered banana-split which i ate 3 quarter portion of it!! Then the restaurant gave each of us complimentary bubur-cha-cha (knowing that its someone's bday)...which is sedap, none-too sweet but yummy!!

After dinner we all had kopi pak sarip at tokmak's house. It was a low-key celebration for bee. Thank you all for the birthday wishes and lovely gifts.

A scare of my life...

It happened yesterday (20th May 2009). At approximately 1:15am or so, i was awaken by bee....i was awake d second time he called up my name but my eyes were still close...but i can sense that something's not right...

I got-up and he said he thinks he can't breath....i panicked!! I was so scared already. To cut d story short....here i am at UMMC Emergency Ward...waiting for doctor to check him.

They quickly put him on ECG once they took his blood-pressure reading (which is quite high). The sight of him with all the blue wires, red wires, black wired; all over him....sigh...my heart was pumping so fast, at that particular moment, i juz prayed to God that i'll be strong and not faint halfway....my two knees had already gone wobbly when we were on the way to the hospital... Alhamdulilah, the ECG results were clear, meaning there's nothing wrong with his heart. In fact they checked it twice to be sure.

Next, doctor took some blood samples from one syringe... and put it in 4 small bottles. For the test results we have to wait for at least 2 hours. In the mean time, bee was resting on d bed and i was sitting beside him....

A lot of things kept playing on my mind....i'm in a 'calm' situation but a lot of things were going inside the brain of mine. All i could do is pray and keep on praying...keep thinking positively.

It was nearly 4am and the same doctor who attended him was very very nice. She came to take another blood sample, this time they wanted a blood sample from his arteries. He told me its very painful....(i know, my heart sank out for him)

After an hour or so, the results test came and all is positive. Meaning his kidney is good and there's nothing alarming. Doctor said no virus in blood and all seems good.

Next, they asked him to take an x-ray. An attendant push his bed to the x-ray room and waited for a few minutes. Test results, OK! Nothing alarming...alhamdulilah.

Lastly, nearly 7am...doctor took his blood pressure and it had gone down slightly. She said she'll give a pill for him to take right away. After half and hour or so if the BP reading goes down again, he can go HOME. Wah!! I tell you.....the waiting is AGONY!! I hoped and prayed that he would not be admitted.

Alhamdulilah, after half an hour, doctor came and checked and he can go home. There will be a follow-up check-up for him and we'll have to see the doctor next week.

Its the most scariest time of my life and i'm thankful for those who have prayed for him. Now we MUST get our lifestyle modification in mode.

For at least 3 months, i'll have to start my 'no-salt' in cooking. Thank God all this while i've been using vegetable oil for my cooking, so that's a plus point. No more salty food. All have to be controlled. Beef is a no-no!!.
Bee told me that he's determine. I know we both can do it. We have to support each other. THANK YOU ALL, for your prayers and support. May GOD bless you and bless us all.

My lazy marble cake

About two weeks ago, i was soooo stessed at work. Wanna know wat i did after work? I baked!! Yeah....crazy rite!! I said crazy cos it takes a lot of effort, set up d ingredients, then afterwards gotta do the cleaning up. But i juz don't mind at dat time....maybe its my was of de-stressing kot.

I make 3times its normal portion. I'm in my generous mood, i used 3 baking-tins. 1 for the office, another 1 for an ofis colleague who luves eating cakes with her son and she appreciates my cake. And another for my anty.

Hmm...turns out okey hoh. I'm gonna call it my 'lazy marble cake' cos its not colorful.

Qaseh Restaurant & Big Bad Book Sale

Yesterday morning we wanted to tryout this place for breakfast. Its juz behind Tesco Extra, shahalam. We read about its review in some mag sumtime back. They have a buffet line of breakfast foodie, eg. nasi lemak, bubur nasi, mihun/mee/kuewteow goreng, cereals etc.

Nice ambiance but since we're in a rush to go back Seremban, i didn't had the chance to ask the waiter what they serve for lunch & dinner. There's plenty of space to sit, indoor or outdoor, its your choice.

I juz had a mixed of mihun/mee/kuewteow goreng with its sambal. Bee had lontong. Food boleh tahanlah. The place pun not a bad. Altho there's plenty of varieties in its menu but most of it has finished cos i think many customers came much earlier to have bfast.

After breafast, we all went to checkout the Big Bad Wolf book sale in Jalan 14/34 PJ. Tis is what i got.... They have tonnes of books for sale....i juz wished i have d time to go thru all...yeah, maybe next time.

Even bought a 'last-minute' recipe book for MIL as a Mother's day gift. Didn't get a chance to see her last week. Since she has a massive collection of recipe book, i'd thot i'd add in some 'collector's item' for her collection. Its the Anita Sarawak, Cooking with Love, i got it at a steal!! I'm glad that she loved it.

Here's some pic of my mom-inlaws collection are from her room....tis is juz d room, belum lagi masuk other places where she keeps her book. Maybe next time, i'll blog about her collection.

THE CLIMB

I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming but
There's a voice inside my head sayin,
You'll never reach it,
Every step I'm taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing,
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down but
No I'm not breakingI may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb (yeah)

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb (yeah yeah ea ea)

Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It's all aboutIt's all about
The climb

Keep the faith
Keep your faith
Whoa a oh oh

Happy Mama's Day

Yesterday was Mother's day. My parents were at my place since last nite. They had to attend a wedding dinner at a Dewan Felda in KL and we sent them there. Bee and i didn't go to the reception cos only 2 person were invited. So, bee and i meet up my bro n sis-inlaw in Keramat and had dinner there. After dinner, we fetched my parents and head back to my place.

The next morning, my parents wanted to go to the Pasar Tani shahalam. We sent them there cos we pitied papa who had to find parking at d very packed place. Later we fetched them back.

My bro and sis-inlaw came to our house about 2 hours before lunch. Then all six of us head to Putrajaya for Mother's day luncheon at Palm Garden Hotel. Its a buffet lunch....cos mama loike going for buffet at hotels. The lunchon includes a door-gift bag but only for the ladies, a Female mag, 2 F&B vouchers frm d hotel and some samples.

After lunch, we head back cos the hot and humid weather has made us all felt restless n tired. Since everyone had good food in the afternoon, for diner, i juz cooked simple dishes eg. nasi goreng kampung and mee kuah udang.

Al -Ansar Steakhouse

Last saturday we went to Keramat, after dropping my parents off to d wedding place. Bro n SIL took us to tis place called Al-Ansar for dinner. Its a bungalow house which they turn into a restaurant. Of course tis is a malay area so u can expect a lot of malays eat here. The restaurant was named after its nearby mosque, Masjid Al-Ansar.

The environment is okeylah. There were plenty of people dat nite but my bro said tis place is always running on full. The place is clean and service was quite fast.

They served a lot of western and some basic dishes on locals. I had chicken-chop and bee ordered grilled-chicken. The chicken meat is very tender (which i loike it so much) but i don't fancy its gravy but the chilli sos saved me...hehehe. We also ordered mushroom soup (bee n i share a bowl) and garlic toasted bread. The bread is good tho. Soup is also ok. Bro n his wife ordered fish n chips....erm i don't tink i would like the fish n chips. Prices r reasoanable lar....we're suppose to go dutch but my bro treated us. Thanks guys!
